Lio Hotel — Hotel in Taipei

The location of this hotel is perfect, it is a short walk from Ximen station and Ximending which is full of shops and eateries. The breakfast they provide during our stay was congee with a bunch of savoury assortments which was tasty and a great way to fill you up to get you on your day (they also offer toast, jam, butter, coffee and tea).

The wet room was clean and our room was cleaned every day and we came home to fresh towels too even if we didn't leave our room until 1pm. The TV had a good selection of channels in mandarin, Korean and English.

The front desk is manned 24 hours a day and they were very friendly and helpful.

My faults with the hotel are that although understandably the rooms are small apart from 2 large shelves above the TV there wasn't anywhere else to hang your clothes. They did provide a bar with a few hangers but this was pretty pointless once clothes were actually on it. A few hooks on the wall would have been better.

There was also always the stale smell of cigarette smoke once we left the lift and walked into the hallway. This is a none smoking hotel and I saw signs everywhere stating this and whilst I was there I didn't see anyone smoke so I have no idea where the smell was from.

A major issue for me is that the doors are very thin. Any activity happening in the hallway might as well be inside your room. We even heard our neighbouring room guest shouting at people talking on their phone in the...

It's fine if you want a cheap place to stay for a night or two, but a friend and i had a few nights and wasnt easy to walk around in that tiny room with our luggages covering pretty much all of the remaining floor.

Cleanliness was alright though they really need some maintenance. The sockets i had were sunken into the wall making it a bit inconvenient to plug in. The slight dust and mould on the edges of the walls and toilet could do some work. The one that really had me worried was the socket and hair dryer just at the edge of the shower with no curtain.

Though tucked away in an alley, location is good, convenience stores and shopping just outside along the main road.

Unfinished housekeeping work. They took the sheet but didn’t put a new one for us. We contacted the front desk but he said you can tell the housekeeper tomorrow. However, we need to sleep tonight... how we can sleep without a clean sheet. I told him we need a clean sheet. He said you can go to the fifth floor to see if the housekeeping room locked. If not, you can take a sheet from there by yourself. And hang up the phone. He didn’t want to deal with it. Just wanna finish the phone call. The rooms is dirty with lots of dust and mold. I don’t even want to give a star. I don’t recommend this...
