If you're looking for a budget hotel with decent quality, this hotel is a go.
Plus points: Nice receptionist/owner: They allowed us to leave our things in the morning while waiting for check in time (3PM). They even helped us carry our things. Decent rooms: Room good for 4 has 2 big beds, a cable TV, Wifi, ref, sofa, electric keetle and mugs. Towels are replaced daily and room service cleans regularly. Location near public transportations, Ximendeng night market, Modern toilet and a lot more businesses.
Needs improvement Hotel rooms actually occupies a floor or two on different buildings and you can't see sign boards easily. Bathroom is quite small. The room design can be still improved. Others: TV volume is too low even at max and there are very few English channels.
Overall it was a nice experience. The room is comfortable and clean even though it appears old outside. Not a five star but still...
Read moreChecked in very early at around 5 am but we were still accommodated right away. We were a couple and got the smallest and cheapest room through Agoda for 6 days and 6 nights but when we just went in our standard room, the owner knocked and asked if we wanted to transfer and we were upgraded to a bigger room (I think the deluxe room) for free for the whole stay! We were very thankful, the room was nice with a very big round bed and mirrored walls, flat screen tv with cable, a hair blower and ref, and a bathtub as well. The linens and toiletries were changed everyday. The location is right in the middle of Ximending. They even give us a heads up on what the weather will be for that day and offer you umbrellas or what you need (just return it after of course). Compared to other budget hotels in Taipei this one gives you even more than what...
Read moreHard to find the hotel, some people stopped us while we looked confused and helped guide us. There are some red signs without English pointing inside a building close to where the Google map pin was. Checked in but brought to another room in another building a few blocks away, not sure why. Room is pretty dated, not so clean and was quite cold at night. Blankets were really cheap but shower was so hot and great. Besides quality of room, the service was great. Daily room cleaning, fresh towels, toiletries and the owner can give a map and chat using messenger apps despite low English it was pretty flawless. Ximending is a really popular area, more than we anticipated. Everything you need 5-10 min...
