After the government announced in late June that all incoming citizens/residents cannot do home quarantine anymore and must go to a hotel or centralized facility, I begrudgingly searched for a reasonably priced hotel that served at least somewhat decent food.
Once I saw the glowing reviews and photos of delicious food from fellow reviewers, I thought, “look no further!” I sent the hotel an email to reserve a room and paid in full right away. Still, I had conservative expectations because… what if it was too good to be true?
Well, I’m a week into my stay here and I am beyond pleased that what everyone else wrote about was very true. The meals are from many reputable local restaurants and hotels such as Tokiya, Shin Yeh Japanese cuisine, Howard Plaza, Amba, Regent, etc. The menu comes with daily fruit and yogurt and is varied, fresh, and of course delicious. Sometimes, we even have surprise snacks! If you have any food allergies, the staff can accommodate. Delivered promptly and hot, tasty meals are easily the highlight of the monotonous long isolated days. Even friends and family who saw my food photos jokingly said maybe they should voluntarily undergo quarantine so that they can feast as well as I am!
Communication via their official LINE account is very swift if you need anything, such as replenishing supplies such as drinking water or workout equipment. The workout equipment is much needed after being fed so well 😅 Staff will also remind you to take your temperature if you forget. My room had a big comfortable bed, didn’t smell weird or humid, and water pressure and temperature was just right. Despite the hotel being fully booked, it wasn’t noisy.
I really appreciate the hotel’s thoughtfulness in the weary traveler’s wellbeing and needs by providing chicken essence, an essentials kit (bowl, stainless steel utensils, mug, slippers, phone stand, charging adapter, thermometer) in addition to the district office’s care package. There are even movie nights and international theme days (Thai for my stay) to keep us entertained!
The complicated entry and quarantine procedures for returning to Taiwan is quite frustrating, but I’m glad that at the end of the tunnel, I made a good choice by staying at Orange. With such a comfortable stay, it wasn’t hard to change my perspective from “being forced to be burdened with an extra expense” to “enjoying a quiet ‘all-inclusive’ staycation”.

Read moreAt first, I was just looking for a quarantine hotel that meets my budget, but the Orange Hotel is certainly beyond my expectation. They offered decent customer service via an app called Line and I was able to get all my questions answered and confirm the booking details via the app while I was still physically in the States. Later my flight has been cancelled twice, so I had to reschedule my check-in dates and the Hotel has no issues with it. They were very flexible on the plan changes. Another example is they use to provide the airport pick-up service but it has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Alternatively, they offer to pay your taxi fare from the airport to the hotel, which I think it's very nice given that it's definitely quite a hassle to figure your commute with tons of luggage.
The hotel itself is quite clean and aligns with what it looks like in the pictures displayed on the website. To my surprise is the Hotel also gave you few useful items for free such as the reusable utensil, the power adapter and the phone holder. The food served were amazing. I chose the healthier/ low carbs meal option and expected it to be salads everyday, but I was totally wrong cuz they definitely worked hard to arrange the food for you (see the pic for an example.). They also have some dumbbells, yoga mats and jump ropes available for your fitness needs. I totally feel like I am living in a good life during my quarantine time here.
Would highly recommend the Orange Hotel to whoever wants a decent quarantine hotel with...
Read moreThis is a great quarantine hotel and I recommend it to everyone, especially those with family. We got two rooms (one is bedroom and the other a living area). Perfect for a toddler to run around and play.
Upon arrival we received a bag of goodies like bowls, utensils, thermometer, slippers, international travel adapter and cleaning materials. We love using the adhesive carpet roller to clean the floor. They even provided shampoo/bath soap, shower tub, utensil, bowl, and toothbrush for the kid.
The hotel is very accommodating of our dietary restrictions (vegan) with sesame allergy. They go out of the way to still give us a variety of meals and look for different vendors when the original one does not have vegan option. Every meal is different!
The room is clean and stocked up on a lot of amenities like dish detergent, laundry detergent, alcohol spray, trash bags, etc...we have a washing machine, coffee machine and two mini fridges. There are also big windows where we can see the busy street but it's very well soundproofed. Only bad thing about the room is that it's a bit dated and no closet (very hard keeping things out of a kid's reach!).
The best part of staying here is the customer service. They reply promptly to any question and request through Line. When there was an earthquake they texted asking if everyone was alright. And sometimes they offer an afternoon tea snack just to brighten your day! Any delivery or package dropped at the reception is delivered to the room quickly.
Definitely recommend this...
