My husband and I are completely enamored with the Okura Prestige Taipei! Our stay at this phenomenal hotel has been nothing short of extraordinary!
As we embarked on our journey from Singapore to Taipei to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, we decided to spend our initial two nights at the Okura before moving on to another 5-star but pricier hotel for the remaining two nights. However, upon arriving at the second hotel and experiencing a striking contrast in decor and service, we couldn't help but yearn for the excellence we had encountered at the Okura. Consequently, we made the swift decision to extend our stay at this remarkable establishment for the duration of our visit.
The location of the hotel is perfect, with an array of shopping and dining experiences just a leisurely stroll away. The level of service is unparalleled, evident in every encounter we had with the staff who displayed the utmost professionalism and attentiveness. The rooms, spacious and flawlessly appointed, exuded a sense of brightness and cleanliness that left us in awe. Every amenity we desired was readily available, making our stay immensely comfortable. The bed and bedding provided unparalleled comfort, affording us a restful sleep like never before. Our taste buds were treated to the delightful buffet breakfast, boasting an extensive range of delectable dishes from Japanese, Western, and Taiwanese cuisines. Truly, our stay at the Okura felt like a luxurious sanctuary away from home, and we cherished every moment of it. If I had the ability, I would gladly bestow this establishment with 10 stars!
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the management and staff of the Okura Prestige for providing us with an unforgettable experience. With absolute certainty, we intend to return for future Taipei holidays and will make it a point to explore other Okura properties...

Check in at around noon but room was not ready while hotel was quite empty.
Paid for Balcony and staff kept asking whether we wanted to open the balcony door.
Every Balcony room has bad view of the back and open to the construction behind the hotel unable to enjoy. Waste of holiday time, waste of time to talk to a manager who gave me a high floor room without balcony. Every design is the same, no balcony, higher floor at higher price and I was informed free upgrade. - Sorry there are many other hotels with higher floor, no balcony, and better view.
Notice how ugly the soap boxes are and that reflects other things in this hotel. This thing happened to me in the first room with ugly balcony and in the 19th floor, their new expensive room on super high floor.
Tepanyaki test was fair not thing outstanding. Limited wine by the glass selection there. Service was not bad but not delightful.
The bar is beautiful but the service was not friendly, starting with ‘We are closing at 11’ when stepping in at 10pm. Then, ‘We have minimum charge of ….’ - I hate this. (If I can enjoy, I don’t mind spending but not I don’t want to spend any).
I ordered wine by the glass and my friend order vodka on the rock. It took less than 5 minutes to prepare and we can finish drink within 15 minutes if we enjoy and wanted to support. 10.30pm sharp staff asked all 3 tables in the bar for the last order and just finished the routine with computer system. No wonder beautiful bar is empty.
Breakfast was ugly set up. Food is same as overall. No service even first cup of coffee. Staff just paid attention to the routine tasks to finish the day.
Still cannot find any...
Read moreLike Okura Hotel in Kyoto and other cities, Okura Prestige Taipei also maintains its traditional and classic styles, including working table in room and partition doors between living quarter and bathroom. The hotel itself also has various contemporary paintings displayed at every room and in elevator banks of every floor.
For the comfort of visitors' stay, the spacious Hotel room has wood floor in living quarter. For the clothing cabinet, the Hotel provides 10 clothing hangers for the visitors, and that is generous and considerate for the visitors and rather unusual when compared to other hotels.
The bathroom has a separate TV on bathtub, similar to many other Okura hotels, such as in Amsterdam.
Room is clean and well maintained in detail by friendly and courteous staffs. To welcome guests and to follow Okura tradition, Hotel generally will place origami of crane on bed.
The Hotel has buffet breakfast program, which is popular and liked by the visitors. It has all sorts of food dishes, including meat, fruit, yogurt and others. For the vegetarians, it provides varieties of the steamed, stirred fry vegetables, in addition to salad and Japanese style pickle and other vegetables. Even for eggs, it provides 5 types of eggs, in addition to on-site egg cooking service per customers' preference. The coffee is dark roast and espresso has decent strong taste. For some vegetarians who enjoy oatmeal with mixed nuts, visitors can also find them.
The Hotel has gym at the 20th floor, which also has reading room, and warm water swimming pool on roof floor. Swimming pool maintains its water temperature at 30C generally, and it has an...
