Royal rose hotel — Hotel in Taipei

Royal Rose (Xinsheng) was a great hotel nestled in a quiet area of Taipei! The hotel is located about 3-5 minute walk from exit 6 of the Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station which seems to connect to everything! The room was very spacious, the rooftop garden was pleasant to relax in at night and the snack lounge / game room was cute.

My big critique for the hotel is that the shower had poor drainage so it had a tendency to pool up pretty badly.

Something also to consider for safety, we were there during the 7.4 earthquake and felt comfortable and safe in the building during the shaking. The building felt sturdy and...

I got a standard double room on the second floor. The furniture is old and there is a musty smell in the room. The bathroom walls and floor were also old and the shower faucet leaked when I turned it on.

The rooms are quite close to each other so I got woken up a few times because the other guests closed their door loudly.

I did appreciate that the hotel is in a quiet residential area so it was nice walking thorough the alleyways and despite being on the second floor, there was no traffic or loud noises from outside. It is about 10 minute walk to the subway so keep...

We loved it and they really are everything as advertised. The only gripe we have is the toilet smelled after the 3rd day 🙁 but otherwise this hotel is:

1. conveniently located
2. located In a safe quiet area
3. there’s a kicker table and a pool/billiard table in the lounge area
4. there isn’t any breakfast but you can help yourself to snacks, coffee and tea all day long in the guest lounge
5. there’s a roof top seating area
6. there’s also laundry facilities (although the timing is quite impractical (10am - last wash @ 7pm), microwave, oven etc
