Total nightmare. Visited on 31 Dec 2024

  1. was initially served by a female staff when we were seated. she took our orders without asking our food allergies. did not get her name.
  2. we requested for butter to go with the bread they served, but the butter was missing until we were almost done with our mains, then it showed up.
  3. a very rude staff named xx君 started serving us halfway through. she served us a mushroom soup which we had no idea what it was. thinking it was the next dish we did not raise any eyebrows. she later came back and said something very quickly in chinese which i was not paying attention (i didnt knew she was talking to me), so i asked her to repeat what she just said and she literally replied "算了" (literally means "whatever" in this context). we were shocked to our bones. we paid so much to come for a fine dining and we are faced with such service? we later found out that she served the wrong food (she served us an additional mushroom soup. we ordered another soup.)
  4. there was a dish that looks like a patty and it was served "burst" ... chef needs to improve on that.
  5. this xx君 lady later came back to change our utensils and clear up emptied dishes, however, she took my spoon and did not return another to me; while she did not took my parents spoon in the process. what is this about? I had to use a tea spoon to drink my soup
  6. when i asked for a replacement utensils, it was places in an "x" pattern. This is the first time I was being served like this. please enlighten me on what this means aside from being unprofessional when they already had the utensil rack on the table?
  7. still hasn't replace my bigger spoon so I had to eat my fried rice with a tea spoon.
  8. half way through the meal, we were asked to change seat??? like literally leaving to another table. the process was very uncomfortable
  9. the new seating area was so noisy and cold, i had to put on ear plugs and keep my coat on.
  10. another female staff was serving us at this new dining area to serve us our dessert. she was super rude and we found out, xx君 did not inform me the fruit tea i chose had an ingredient i am allergic to, when i took the time to deliberately tell her!
  11. we were served with a chipped tea pot.

hallelujah for surviving the whole ordeal. with the price charged, better...

I came in on my last night in Taiwan hoping to have a good farewell dinner. I’m so excited to have found this gem of a restaurant! The place really delivers a unique culinary experience, and a feast for the eyes and the mouth.

Service: I think that the restaurant owes a part of this 5 star review to their excellent personnel; the waitress was patient with my so-so Chinese, explained every detail, including little things unknown to a foreigner like myself, thus making sure I was comfortable with the food and the process. The chef’s work was nothing less than an exhibition of mastery and art, Managing with ease many complex dishes on a busy Friday night, while maintaining an array of beautifully decorated dishes and paying personal attention to every customer.

Food: as part of the set dinner, a good choice of dishes is available for every course. Every dish was wonderful, beautifully served and balanced; including the salmon soup and the refreshing fruit salad, the warm bread with the accompanying creamy spread. But the climax of the evening was certainly the duck breast - a juicy, tender and substantial piece of meat with a berry sauce, not too sweet, heavy or overwhelming. This is, hands down, the best duck breast I’ve had; I savoured every bite of it.

Price: for the hefty amount of various, tasty and exquisite dishes, the price is more than reasonable. I was stuffed upon the end and didn’t even ask for free refills of bread and rice, not to mention the high quality...

Chamonix is located in the basement outside a building, and we were surprised by how big and classy the place looked inside , several teppan stoves and tables, like a high-end teppanyaki restaurant.

We had the 1380 set meal (about SGD 65 per person) and it was worth it. My brother recommended the 1190 set for duck lovers , it looked amazing when we saw it being cooked, and my bf regretted not ordering it since the portion seemed bigger.

Food highlights: Appetiser: Chawanmushi with truffle and scallop (7/10) , quite standard except for the truffle sauce. Soups: Onion soup and chicken soup (8.5/10) : rich, flavorful, very appetising. Set inclusions: Sparkling apple drink & water (refillable), plus freshly baked buns with tobiko garlic butter (also refillable). All the dishes were delicious! The meat, veggies, and desserts were all great quality. It was really nice of the chef to give 4 pieces of meat to test how we like it cooked, then they proceeded to cook the beef according to your preference. The plating was very pretty too!

After the mains, we were moved to another area for dessert, which made the dining experience feel special. Drinks from the set were served with the dessert.

Service was excellent , they even surprised us with a small cake, decorations, and printed photos when they found out one of us had a September birthday.

We had a really enjoyable time here , good value, delicious food, and...
