Great Location, Friendly Staff, and Thoughtful Amenities – But Bathroom Needs AttentionWe had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and found many things to love. The location is excellent—just a short walk to metro stations and bus stops, and about 15 minutes on foot to Ximending. It’s close enough to the action but still quiet at night, which was perfect for us. There are also several kid-friendly attractions nearby, which made getting around with our son easy and enjoyable. The hotel offers a free shuttle service, which is a great convenience, although it would be even better if it started earlier and ran more frequently. One of the highlights of our stay was the free guided tour—our guide was amazing! She spoke fluent English, was very knowledgeable, and made the experience truly memorable.Another charming feature is the old-school snack corner, which is complimentary for guests. It’s a nostalgic and fun touch. It’s not available 24/7 (unlike another hotel we stayed at in Taiwan), but since it’s part of the restaurant area, it follows their opening hours—which is understandable. The staff deserve special praise—they were consistently helpful, proactive, and kind. From check-in to daily interactions, everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of.The rooms have recently been renovated and look fresh and modern. I particularly appreciated the switch from carpeted to hard floors—it feels much cleaner and more hygienic. The room itself is spacious, with ample closet space, and the layout is thoughtful, especially for families. However, the bathroom design could use some improvement. While I liked the concept of having a bathtub in the shower area—great for kids to enjoy a bath without splashing everywhere—the tub design wasn't very family-friendly. It's a Japanese-style, tiled tub with sharp edges, and I got scratched multiple times. It doesn’t feel safe for young children. The wooden rack and bucket also had visible mold, and mold was beginning to appear around the tub edges as well. This was disappointing, especially since my son has sensitive skin and developed a rash after using the tub.Despite the bathroom concerns, we still had a great overall experience. I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location, friendly staff, thoughtful services, and family-friendly features—just be cautious about the tub if you're traveling with young children or anyone with...

Read moreThis hotel experience was highly disappointing and I must strongly advise against booking here. My stay of less than 24 hours was marred by discriminatory treatment, attempted overcharging, and poor noise management, which collectively demonstrate a profound lack of integrity and guest-centric service.||The problems began at check-in. I arrived at 1:50 PM and was told the room was not ready until 2:30 PM. However, I witnessed the group of Korean guests immediately before me being allowed to check in without any issue. When I explained I had an urgent matter and requested an early check-in, the staff demanded an extra NT$800 for this. It is highly suspicious that a room suddenly became available the moment I agreed to pay this fee. The explanation given that the Korean guests had booked the room for the previous night, this was illogical and frankly insulting, as no reasonable guest would book an extra night when their flight arrives in the afternoon. This incident felt like discriminatory treatment and a clear attempt to exploit a guest in need.||Furthermore, the stay was disturbed by strange noises resembling an electric curtain mechanism or a vacuum cleaner in the hallway between 12 AM and 1 AM, which severely disrupted sleep. Upon departure, the situation did not improve. I asked the concierge to arrange a taxi to the airport, and they directly wrote a fixed fee on the ticket that was higher than the standard rate. As a frequent traveler to Taipei, I know the taxi fare to the airport typically does not exceed 1200 dollars. It was only after I challenged this inflated quote that they agreed to arrange a metered taxi. This attempt to overcharge guests is unacceptable and completely erodes trust.||These two major incidents at check-in and check-out are sufficient to illustrate the hotel's poor attitude. For the hotel to improve, I would suggest implementing a clear, consistent, and fair early check-in policy applied equally to all guests. The concierge must also provide transparent, standard pricing for services like taxis, offering metered options first. Finally, the source of nighttime noises should be investigated. A stay should be defined by professional service and fairness, not by the need to constantly question the hotel's motives and...
