Briston Hotel — Hotel in Arusha

The hotel is moderately good, located a few hundred meters from the central bus station, the main sports stadium (Sheikh Amri Abeid) and the main market. It is a stone-throw away from the Museum for Arusha Declaration, where the famed resolution that Tanzania follows her own mode of socialism (Ujamaa and self-reliance) was reached.|A middle class hotel with moderate amenities, it offers reasonable rates for its mid-level services. Hot water is available on all three floors. Free Wifi is excellent at the ground floor but erratic on the upper floors. The restaurant offers good food but of limited choice. Bad service, I went there twice in in one day just to have a drink on my Easter holiday but they never respect that fact, instead they shutdown the wifi for me when I asked them why did they shutdown the reception wifi connection ,they told me that the wifi has problems, in the meanwhile I can still see fistfloor wifi is on, I asked them if they can give me the password for the first floor and the lady replied that, she won't do that because am not permanent customer. Is this what is the permanent customer? Since morning I have been there drinking and pay all my bills that is not enough to see me has customer until shutdown wifi for me? This is not fair what...

It's a relatively new building, average standard, cost usd35. The problem was the service... I don't think the girls wanted to speak English. I had a problem to get to town to buy some Tz shillings. They couldn't care less. Didn't have a map or any literature to help me find my way around. I was rescued by a random act of kindness - a chap parked outside ran me down to town and back to the cambio, it took five minutes.||||There was a pre-used wet towel, ugh, in my room.
