Yesterday evening, I went in this place for the second time. I ordered in total: 3 small local beers, 1 big local beer and ugali. I knew the prices; first because I had been again to this place and second because I asked for the menus before ordering. The waitress though (who didn't speak English at all) thought that being white (muzungu) is a synonym of being rich and idiot. So, she charged me double price for everything, ignoring even the fact that I was there with a local who could probably inform me too regarding the overcharging.
Result?! I told her that the prices were not the right one. Then, she insisted that these were the right prices. So, after that, I asked for the menus again. She brought them and finally she tried to explain that she "confused" our bill with the bill of another table.
Conclusion?! She didn't get any tip - of course - and I will never visit or recommend this place again.
It's so annoying. In this way, guys, you shoo your tourists and defame your country. I am here for a month volunteering and I look forward to returning back home. I feel sorry for you and your mindset towards...

Even their chips mayai was to die for. So yeah, the food, 5 ⭐. Also the service was good, the guy who served us was fast, sharp and very nice. It's a place where most locals go to for a night out of drinking and music. The DJ was good, played a mix of some good songs. Just make sure you are dressed warmly cause it gets pretty cold after midnight especially during these months...
Read moreIn the center of Arusha, it's a informal but well organized place to relax. Nice people and music. They play a lot late 1990's and early 2000's Congolese music, but u will listen also to others African rhythms and modern beats. They like to eat with the hands to feel and taste better the food😋 so in many places like this and restaurant, when u order a food, the ladies will come at your table with warm water and liquid soap to wash your hands. And they will do it again when you finish eating. They are very educated and helpful. They are the most wonderful people that I've meet so far 🥰🥰🥰
