Mwambao Restaurant — Restaurant in undefined

My friend and me are foreigners looking to eat here and was attended by a ‘friendly’ English-speaking youngster who wanted to take our orders verbally. Following the tip from a previous reviewer that we should only order from the local menu to avoid exorbitant prices, we pointed to the large local menu displayed at the front of the restaurant. The youngster replied that we could order from that menu if we wanted to so we walked to the front, took a picture of the menu and started to order items from it. To our surprise, the youngster replied with a curt ‘Sold out’ to every item we requested.

We asked if there were any food items that weren’t sold out and he said that everything on that local menu is sold out. That probably isn’t true as there was a lunch crowd and we could literally see food being served at the counter. I think the youngster was just trying to corner us into ordering from him. We told him that since everything is sold out, we can’t order anything here and promptly walked out the door.

I usually find at least one positive thing to say about a place but from the moment I walk into this restaurant till the moment I left, my whole experience is just bad. I don’t often give one-star reviews but I’m making an exception this time.

Very clean Restaurant within Arusha, I loved their Chapatti which I ate with beef source 😋 It was so soft and tender and tasted great. Food in this restaurant is very affordable yet served with best quality and orders come in timely. I had to order for more chapati as take a way because I had not tasted such nice chapati and I wanted to have some more. Will surely visit again the next time am in Arusha.
