Update: you can see by the owner’s response how he speaks to guests and how he speaks to women. If you read his responses on all websites it’s always claiming people need therapy. It’s very clear he is upset with hearing feedback, and instead of accepting it, he can only insult and attack guests.
I always kept my feedback with travel agent website and never complained to the staff or owner, however when the owner realized that I was not happy with the hotel, he decided to cancel my reservation in the system saying I never arrived to the hotel - I spoke with travel agent website and they agreed that the owner probably did this so I could not leave a negative review on their website or try to ask for a refund. Luckily, I was able to resolve the issue and did receive compensation for this horrible experience. I also had the travel agent website investigate the property because I cannot comprehend how a hotel with broken windows that are held together with tape could actually have such a high review rating. Summary: -Humid room with strange smell -Furniture smelled bad so I couldn’t hang my clothes -Broken glass windows that are held together with tape. Not all cracks are taped, so mosquitos can easily enter room -Toilet paper used to close gaps between windows and window frames -The mesh net in the windows not fully sealed, so mosquitos can enter the room easily -Mattress is on the floor with no bed frame. Being exhausted, we agreed—big mistake.||||As soon as we entered the room, we understood why:||||Dirty, disgusting room with a broken mattress, furniture, and window nets (letting insects and animals in)||Filthy sheets and floors||Loud music until midnight||We decided to leave the next morning and get our money back—but then came the real scam:||The receptionist claimed they "no longer had our money" because the owner was "out of the country for two weeks".||||After hours of arguing, they refused to refund anything. We found a new hotel and told them we’d be leaving the next morning—giving them time to return our money.||||The next day, they still refused to reimburse us and even threatened to ruin our honeymoon. After six hours of arguing, they told us to return in two days.||||When we came back, the staff avoided us. It was the warmest welcome from manager Veronica with cold welcoming beers :) after a long hot African mid day sun , the garden gives you full of energy of greens, sun covered by trees , really nice shade and chill area. We work remotely, so we needed strong WiFi and this place provided really good connection, high signal even in bathroom :)) the rooms are spacious, with African arts on walls, simple , no complications almost everything you need in the room. The Beds are quite comfortable and everyday they do housekeeping. Everyday we back to our room we find another decoration by the staff , which is not too much necessary. They have water dispenser in breakfast area, which is free and you really need to drink too much H2O in Africa:) best and popular beach only a minute ago. On the way to beach dozens of souvenir shops. Also a bar attached to the hotel which is a plus cos you still can find food when it's after 10pm. (We couldn't find any other open restaurant after 10pm in Nungwi, weird) |Staff 5 stars|Room 5 stars|Location 5 stars|Facilities 4 stars ( pool shouldn't be empty, hope they will fill the pool next time)||Result: We highly recommend this place, we felt home, safe and so happy.
