I booked Pappu House via booking.com before my arrival to Thailand. everything went smooth as booking is easy via the app.
After finalizing the reservation, I received a welcome message from Pappu regarding the details about her place and any help I need. First impression: great!
The day I arrived: Taxi brought me to Pappu cafe in early afternoon. As soon as I arrived, the lady working in the cafe greeted me and served me with a cup of hot cappuccino. After a few minutes, Pappu showed up, a lovely kind lady with a smile on her face. She was kind enough to show me the room and the place. The Paapu house is an old-fashioned rustic house, old but extremely clean and well maintained.
However, I needed a larger place for two weeks, which Pappu recommend Pappu next door, which was in the alley beside the cafe (2-3 minutes walking). Pappu next door is a concrete new building, with a small cafe on the ground floor. It will be cleaned every 3 day.
I had a great time staying in Pappu's next door, for a few reasons: The place was extremely spacious and clean. There were many restaurants, cafes and convenience store around. For the first three days, I woke up around 10-11 pm, and went out for getting food around midnight. The hospitality of Pappu and her colleagues is amazing. It is a great example of Thai hospitality.
Do I recommend the place? Yes,...
Read moreThere isn't a single negative thing I could say about my stay at Pu's place! The house was recently remodeled and renovated with a very modern and boutique look and is located on the ring of the Old City. Food vendors, restaurants, night markets, cafes, bars, and city temples are all within proximity. Pu also gave me very good recommendations on the local cuisines and pubs, and I appreciate that very much. The included, semi-customized breakfast came with both healthy (greek yogurt with fruits) and traditional English (bacon with scrambled eggs and sausages) options. There was no set time for breakfast as Pu would just prepare it whenever I was awake. The complimentary tea and coffee were equally amazing. Try them both if you can. The room didn't have AC but the fan was enough to keep me cool. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean, probably because of the small number of guests (there are only 6 available rooms in the house, no dorms). There is also laundry service (50 baht per load for both was and dry), which was super convenient. The common place was a perfect setting for me to do online works as I often needed some background noise. It is also good for people watching. Highly recommend Pu's place if you're looking for a calm, relaxing, and local place for your stay...

The highlight of the night was Dee Band, a phenomenal group that delivered an electrifying mix of rock, blues, and reggae. Their talent, stage presence, and soulful renditions kept the crowd dancing and singing along all night. It was clear they weren’t just playing music—they were creating a connection with the audience.
