This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. From the time I checked in at noon to the evening, they changed my room three times because of various room problems, but the problems did not stop. The problem in the first room was the very loud sound of the air conditioner outdoor unit (I checked and found that there were more than a dozen outdoor units on the top of the room) and the air conditioner remote control did not work (the air conditioner was installed on the top of the bed, and the cold wind blew directly at my head). After the feedback, someone came 40 minutes later, and my one-and-a-half-year-old child could not take a nap during this period. The problem was still being solved until almost 5 pm. During this period, the manager had a poker face and said that no one had complained about these problems and asked me what I wanted. After that, they changed me to another room. Not long after I went in, I opened the window and found that the window frame was full of ants. I asked them to spray insecticide. After that, I prepared to give the baby a bath. When I was about to get a towel, the baby turned on the faucet in the bathroom. Then he cried loudly. I rushed over and saw that the faucet was constantly flowing with black liquid, and the black water splashed all over the baby. I was a little suffocated at once, and waited for a few minutes and took the baby to the front desk. I told them that I didn't feel safe here, there were too many problems, I couldn't stay in the room after booking for ten days, they just kept saying that they couldn't refund the money. I said that I could only call the police. They asked the cleaning lady to go back to the room with me, and after a while the front desk came to upgrade my room. I agreed. The room was smaller than what I booked, but the decoration was slightly newer. I went in and quickly gave the baby a bath, because it was almost 8 o'clock in the evening. There was a toilet next to the shower room, without a partition, and the toilet was full of water after the bath. Then I gave the baby milk, and the baby fell asleep just after drinking. When I was washing the bottle, I found that the sink couldn't drain the water. Then I opened the water pipe door below and found that it was all exposed cement inside, and there was a big hole drilled for the sink to connect to the water pipe. Oh my God, I have never seen such a primitive scene in a hotel room. Not to mention that there was no socket on the small dressing table in the room, and there was only enough space on the table to put 2 books side by side, and personal belongings could only be scattered all over the floor. At this moment, I finished washing and lay on the bed to write words, just hoping to spend the night safely...
Read moreLocation was very good. We stayed during Yi Peng and we were very close to the main walking streets and festival areas. This hotel was also within pick up distance for the Elephant Nature Park which was excellent and ethical. |We were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite with breakfast which was very unexpected but kind of the hotel. Breakfast was poor with not much choice, however the cafe was lovely and opens at 10am. The Staff in the Cafe were phenomenal, extremely friendly and the service was second to none. The room was spacious but basic, the junior suites do get serviced daily and replenished with drinking water which was good. We did have some concerns over the lock on our door, as on a few occasions after locking the door we found the door to be unlocked and on one occasion the door was open while we were in the room when we had previously closed it, this lead us to putting a couple of chairs in front of the door on our last night as we were a little freaked out! The walls are thin and you can hear everything so did get woken up a few times due to this.|The pool area is a sun trap and gets very hot, great for sunbathing. Not many sun loungers available, and would recommend changing the leather cushions as they get hotter than the sun. The pool was clean and had good depth. When you check in you are required to give 500 baht deposit, and when checking out the receptionist will radio the housekeeping team to check the room before giving you your money back. This was not expected and took longer than expected. There is a Koi Fish pond at reception which is beautiful, however it does seem very small for the size of the fish living in there! ||Overall a decently priced hotel close to everything you'd need. However could do with...
Read moreHotel advertises airport transfers. We had no reply to 2 emails we sent asking for transfers. Ended up calling hotel when we arrived at airport, only to be told they don't do airport transfers!
There is no restaurant. There is a breakfast room and a snack bar nearby but the restaurant doesn't open. (Try Northlands cafe across the road though-it's superb and great value!)
Bathroom is mouldy and thick cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
Toilet making noise all through the night due to poor plumbing.
They made us pay 300Bht for a 'stain' on a bath towel which would wash out. When I objected, they immediately picked up the phone and said they'll call the police. My wife and I were absolutely disgusted by this. The towels they did give us were threadbare and tatty. Clearly just scamming us.
Tip - don't get hotel to book your taxi for you as a 150Bht trip becomes 200 and they make you pay the hotel, not the driver - go figure.
When we arrived, the room next door looked like it had been broken into/kicked in. I showed this to the staff who just laughed. Is security an issue?
I can also echo previous comments about bugs at breakfast. The hotel responded to say they would be keeping the door shut and air con on. They don't do any such thing and there were dead bugs in the milk jug plus an army of ants around the sugar when we were there.
The hotel has the potential of being a really nice hotel but our experience seriously let them down. What happened at checkout means I would never want to go back there.
There were a few members of staff who were really friendly,...
