It's a gorgeous looking place, with friendly staff, though I've yet to find hotel staff in Thailand that is not friendly.
It's advertised as 4 star hotel, which is exactly what it looks like up on seeing it. But after staying here a little longer you do begin to notice some of its flaws. Making me question its 4 star eligibility.
But for the ones coming here to enjoy a private Jacuzzi with mountain view, beware.
A big reason we chose this place was for the jacuzzi suites. Ours worked for about a day.. The first time, it did not work. We had to call the reception, they sent the security guard upstairs to look at it. After about 20 minutes he turned on a switch in the electricity box outside of the room, which made it work. The Jacuzzi was amazing (when it worked). We wanted to use it again the next morning, but to our surprise it did not work again.
We called the reception again to 'turn on' the jacuzzi for us. This time they sent the concierge that drove us from the airport to look at it.
He opened the jacuzzi with a screw driver, leaving us confused. He thought it was broken. After about 15 minutes of looking at its internals he said he was going to get his toolbox.
We waited about an hour before he came back. Once he got back.. he turned on the switch outside of the room, like his colleague had done the previous night.
The Jacuzzi worked once again, for about 45 minutes. Then it stopped working again. We gave up and went outside to enjoy the city.
Later that night we wanted to relax in the jacuzzi again. We called the reception asking if they could turn it on.
The security guard came up to assist us, tried turning on the switch outside. But said the fuse had been blown and left without offering any form of apology or compensation.
He also told us that the switch outside automatically turns off, so you have to call the reception whenever you want to use the jacuzzi.
We did not get to use the Jacuzzi anymore during our stay, which was a huge let down.
Aside from the Jacuzzi, the rooms could be cleaner.
Our bed sheet had some tears in it, and there was a dirty mattress standing in the hall way in front of our suite for two days. There were ants walking over some stuff during breakfast. The TV was smaller than that of lower grade hotels.
These things don't really bother me, as we commonly just go for budget accommodations. But it does not really reflect the quality you would expect from a four star hotel.
The location of the hotel is good, (although not too good looking) a 5 minute drive from Chiang Mai airport. It's a 3 minute walk from some good street food and 7-11.
It's a very quiet hotel and it feels like you're the only guest, which felt great for us as it's...
Read moreGuessed that the hotel has not able to maintain the property during the COVID. Concept of the building probably made from a big indian/Thai family. Given the decorations are full of Thai Goddesses and incense with strange smell. When we walked in to check in the evening, it looked quite terrifying. The room is full of dust and the new restaurant facing the window got very noisy at nite. The jacuzzi was dirty, can see roaches here ad there. The first room we got was even worse, it has a few hidden corners inside the room, with the limited light in the evening, you can't help thinking of scary movies. Because of the noisy at night, they moved us to a better room, and the room is more connected with other setting, no separated in some hidden area inside the room. Breakfast was very very limited and very low quality, can image it's because of the number of occupancy; hopefully, better quality will come back. One thing I need to give them a plus, was they returned BHAT 1000 to my husband as we were overpaid.
Honestly, I think they decor too many statues around really made the hotel like a temple in the lobby area. Personally will not go there again, and will look for a real 4 stars hotel by...
Read moreTwo words. Never again.
Overpriced. Terrible service. Dated rooms in need of a deep clean. A dysfunctional and dirty jacuzzi that I put off using until the last night of my stay. The coldest swimming pool I have ever encountered in my life. Unfriendly staff with limited English (expect one member who greeted us some mornings). Breakfast is supposed to start at 7 am, but most food doesn’t arrive until 8. I have also never experienced such a depressing breakfast… dark room, no music, absolute silence.
One staff member (I am guessing the owner) was there to greet us upon our arrival. We had accidentally double booked a few months ago, and sent multiple emails on multiple websites to ask for a refund. Never received an answer. I brought this up during my check in. The staff was closed to any discussion, denied having received my emails, wouldn’t even check, and refused to even consider a refund or partial refund. Please keep in mind that I am the least confrontational person under the sun, so their attitude says a lot.
I could go on and on. I have better things to do. But you get the point here. Stay away from this hotel if you wish to enjoy your stay...
