We stayed for four nights in this resort close to the centre of Bangtao village. When shown to our room I was a bit shocked. The room was small, dark and a bit dingy. A small. simple bathroom; the only outdoor space two chairs facing the path. As our stay here was a short one, we had booked a standard room, but hadn't expected something as basic as this. Walking around the grounds we noticed lots of bungalows at the back of the gardens. We enquired, and for a reasonable price difference were able to move into a very spacious bungalow with a lovely covered terrace the next day. Here we had a nice room with all the usual amenities we required: aircon, TV, WiFi, lots of storage space, kettle, fridge, a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. I can't remember if there was a safe. We were in the last bungalow at the end of the garden, so we had peace and quiet. |The gardens were lush, lots of greenery, and flowering plants. There isn't a proper beach, but a sort of seawall where you walk a few steps directly into the water. Along the waterfront there are sun loungers, spaced widely, and there is a small pool. |There is a small restaurant, also at the seafront. Breakfast was included in our price. No buffet, just a choice of various different sets, but always including fresh fruit. Their menu is quite small, we just had some daytime snacks and one dinner (their seafood is lovely). I have reviewed the restaurant separately.|The staff are almost all from Myanmar, you couldn't wish for nicer, friendlier and more helpful people; nothing was too much trouble.|The location is good, next to the Best Western, close to restaurants, shops, bars etc. and the main beach which I loved when we visited a few years ago, but which has become too crowded for my liking. All in all, we would stay again for a few days in this lovely quiet but...
Read moreThe room was very large with two big beds ... really a bargain for 2,150 Baht per night. The hotel is close to the beach and some decent restaurants. I did not try the breakfast or coffee offered but when out to a coffee shop. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The beds were pretty comfy and the big fridge worked well. There were two small ice cube trays provided which is always a plus. The room and its balcony faced the street rather than the interior space of the hotel (with its pool). So, it was a rather noisy room with all the life and activity that went on out there into the night. Next time I'd request a quiet room. The bathroom required a little bit of maintenance with its faucets. I was encouraged to use the safe which I did, however, I noticed it wasn't bolted into the wall behind it, so someone could have easily walked off with it. The room key was attached to the card that one had to insert to get the power in the room going... don't care for that, because not running the A/C most of the time quickly makes the room unbearable. But, there was a way...

The property is maximum 3 stars. The price you pay to stay in this hotel is absolutely inadequate to what you get.
no private beach, although some photos by the owner suggest there is one. There is actually no beach at all, but is a boat parking right in front of the hotel. Impossible to swim, although technically the hotel is located right on the beach.
breakfast is non-existent, no buffet, you have to choose between a small variety of options containing inedible components and instant coffee. On the second day we went outside for breakfast and got ourselves great coffee at the 7/11 nearby No dental kits or anything similar apart from one hand soap in the room.
On the positive side of things, the property is a nice garden that is being looked after. The food at the restaurant (lunch/dinner) is very nice, although the service is slow and they may be miscommunication as staff doesn't really...
