Seaside Seafood Kitchen Bangtao — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

We went for dinner and we had as starters calamari and soft shell crab- not worth the money, unless you like to eat fried batter. The calamari were ok, but the crab was just deep fried batter soaking in oil. 2/5*

Mains- pad Thai which was very nice and so was the green curry. 4/5*

For the above and 2 cokes we paid approx 1,200baht. If you pay by card be aware of the 3% charge of the amount of the bill.

Staff hardly speak English but you can understand each other (eventually)

Update in response to our review: the 3% extra charge is not a misunderstanding. I have paid by debit card using baht, not a foreign currency. Revolut or Monzo allowed us to exchange GBP for Baht and they DO NOT have a charge for using the card. The restaurant gave us the bill and then wrote with the pen on it with the extra 3%. Some of the places practice this 3% when you pay by card. I have not mentioned VAT...

Very clean restaurant with air conditioning and really nice staff on the beach. It doesn't matter if you are "carnivore", "herbivore" or like seafood, pizzas or hamburgers. You'll find always something interesting to taste. We wanted to eat something "Thai", but not too spicy. That was very easy as our charming waitress Jane gave us good advice. As someone who has tried Pad Thai from many places, this one unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations.
