I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Ibis Styles Bangkok Ratchada, which was marred by several unpleasant incidents and poor service.
Firstly, the lobby area boasts approximately 30 to 40 seats at various tables that blend seamlessly from the bar into the lobby. Upon our arrival, only one table was occupied, yet we encountered confusion regarding which tables are exclusively reserved for lounge guests. There was no clear signage indicating the designated lounge area, which led to ambiguity and discomfort.
While enjoying a cold burger from Shake Shack—delivered around 12:30 and consumed at approximately 13:00—a staff member from the bar approached us. Without any greeting, she simply placed a "No Outside Food" sign on our table and walked away, exhibiting a rude attitude. The burger presented no disturbing smell or evidence of any policy violation, making her behavior seem unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional.
The hotel’s food offerings are extremely limited, especially during non-kitchen hours such as 13:00 on a Monday. The lounge primarily focuses on beverages and alcohol, with little or no food options available. Furthermore, it appears that full service is not offered at the lounge area, which is quite disappointing for guests expecting more comprehensive amenities.
Despite the hotel’s primary revenue coming from accommodation, it is petty and unreasonable to force guests sitting in the lobby to order from the lounge, particularly when we stayed for five consecutive days and engaged in no such requirement. The hotel’s policies seem cumbersome and unnecessarily restrictive.
When I sought assistance from the manager, Peter, he was unhelpful and repeatedly blamed hotel policies instead of addressing our concerns. As a six-month pregnant woman with a pronounced belly, I was appalled when he insisted I necessarily have my late lunch outside the hotel, despite the fact that there were around nine unoccupied tables in the lobby. Outside temperatures in late August reached approximately 38°C (100°F), and there were no seats available outside of the hotel, forcing me to consider eating under the scorching sun—a completely unacceptable and offensive suggestion.
Moreover, the overall facilities are outdated and poorly maintained. Despite paying 100 Baht per day for housekeeping, our room was consistently neglected. We experienced an unstable shower water temperature, with water turning cold mid-shower and then suddenly becoming scalding hot without any adjustment from us. The room lacked a proper dressing table—only a small sink and mirror were available, forcing us to stand while doing our makeup or grooming. Additionally, we discovered a large, ripped piece of toilet paper on the toilet rim, indicating that housekeeping had failed to clean the bathroom properly.
Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel to others. There are numerous other options in the same price range that offer better service, facilities, and respect for guests.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and improve your services...
Read moreOverall was a good stay, first thing i noticed was that this ibis Styles Bangkok Ratchada actually looks like a new building, contrary to my previous stay at other ibis hotels. Drop off point was extremely huge as the front driveway was much bigger. Checking in process was smooth, and was given complementary drinks as i think it was due to my Accor membership, which my other friend did not have as they were not Accor members.
There were 3 lifts, which as great, so more ppl can be moved fast up the many levels of the hotel. Room card was required to operate the lift as it was pretty good security to prevent unknown people going up to the rooms. This hotel seems to be a non-smoking hotel, and thus there was no awkward smell left in the room.
Usual procedure of checking the things in the room, making sure the switches and aircon is working properly. The aircon in my room is not so great, as compared to the other friends who are staying at the same level, although i wished it had been better. Mine was a double bed room, with a 2 seater sofa and a small swivel tea-table. Bed was so-so, and if strictly speaking, it was not as good as previous ibis i stayed at other location, but still good enough, just not great. There was no other table where i could put my small stuff other than the luggage rack area, and the pantry top, so things can get abit messy when laying out your stuff.
Room has 2 tall and narrow windows at the corners, so you will not have any claustrophobic feel even though the window is quite narrow. Basin and mirror is not separated by any walls in the rooms, so it feels like its part of the room, instead of part of the bathroom area. Not really a problem unless you roommate has an issue with you turning on the lights and brushing your teeth right infront of their face when they are on the bed. Toiletries although not in the room, but available free upon request. Shower has good pressure and heated water.
Generally a pretty decent room for the price, location is considered convenient, although not really in the heart of the shopping area. With the MRT right beside the hotel, it is quite a breeze to be travelling around bangkok without fears of the famous traffic jam. One thing to note. The room furniture does not help people who needs to work while travelling. With just a small tea-table, my laptop has practically covered the table and i am not able to put more device on the table, e.g. handphones and documents/papers. Socket is not good for a bigger plug as the 2 sockets are almost sticking to each other, which means if your plug is huge, you are not able to use the 2nd...
Read moreWe had requested an extra bed well in advance, reconfirmed this request on the morning of our arrival, and had already completed the payment for the extra bed before check-in.However, upon our arrival at around 4:00 PM on 10 August 2025, we encountered the following unacceptable issues:1. Double Charging – Despite having already paid for the extra bed, the front desk staff charged us again upon check-in, indicating a serious lack of coordination between your finance and booking records.2. Extra Bed Not Provided – After entering the room, we discovered that no extra bed had been prepared at all, despite our prior requests and payment.3. Three Consecutive Failures – From the initial request to the payment process and final room preparation, your staff made repeated errors at every stage. Such consecutive mistakes are extremely rare in the hospitality industry and reflect a complete breakdown in your hotel’s quality management. These incidents clearly demonstrate:Housekeeping staff lacking basic responsibility and service standards.Poor handover and communication among front desk staff.Management’s failure to enforce proper supervision and operational processes.I strongly condemn ibis Styles Bangkok Ratchada for demonstrating extremely poor service quality and zero-star value, far below the standards expected of any international hotel brand. Due to this incident, I will be leaving the lowest possible reviews across multiple platforms and informing at least five other potential customers of...
