I've never been this disappointed in a hotel buffet before.
🍴 Food selections: They have several cooking stations such as Thai noodles, ramen, stir-fried Sukiyaki, stir-fried veggies, sashimi, crispy pork, duck etc. As for food selection, there are salads, pizzas, grilled prawns, crabs, western dishes, as well as Thai dishes; also congee and food to have it with. They had cakes, shaved ice, and a hot Thai dessert (we got sweet potato in ginger soup), as well as ice cream bars.
🍽 The crabs reeked of ammonia (not to mention also the taste). The grilled prawns are a gamble, some tasted fine and fresh, some was just a no. The tomatoes in the salad fridge were starting to look all wrinkly, and the red beans smelt off and a tad sour (probably been there a while but not yet gone bad). Their ramen, well, shouldn't really be called ramen... was just milky sweet soup with no apparent taste, noodles bland. Salmon sashimi was okay. They had various dessert selection, both Thai style and cakes. We tried the cakes...a few were okay, but some are just awful, shortening creams and texture tasting like 5 baht cakes I find in markets on the street.
🏷 In one area, none of the menus had any names on it, only what meat they were made of. So no idea what we ate.. just says, shrimp, shrimp, pork, chicken etc.
💁🏻♂️ Serving staffs were friendly and polite though
Mind you we paid nearly ฿700/ea per person while the value of the food is not worth even half the price.
It's not like there is no street food within the area, so unless you love a buffet setting and an an air-conditioned room, I'd recommend elsewhere.

Read moreAs a hotel guest at ibis Styles Bangkok Ratchada, Streats Cafe is where I’ve been having my daily breakfast — and I must say, it has been a pleasant surprise. The buffet spread is decently wide, offering a good mix of local Thai dishes, international staples like eggs and sausages, and lighter fare such as cereals, fruits, and salads.
For a mid-range hotel, the variety and quality exceeded expectations. Hot dishes are consistently replenished, and there’s even a noodle station for a comforting bowl of something warm in the morning. Coffee and juices are self-serve, and while nothing fancy, they do the job well to kickstart the day.
It’s casual, clean, and efficient — just what I needed before heading out to explore Bangkok. Definitely one of the more satisfying hotel breakfasts I’ve had at this...
