THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH BEACH-BEDS. In a resort like this you’d expect to have enough beach beds for everyone. They have plenty of space for it, but seems not to want to acquire more. The beach-beds were also made of leather (!) which made it impossible to lay on in the sun.
The hotel states that it’s against the rules to reserve the beach-beds. When we noticed that -all- the beds were reserved with a towel by 6:30am, we asked the staff to enforce their own rules; which they refused to do so, asking us to take other people’s possessions away to take the beds ourselves. Like it’s our own problem? Ridiculous.
The entire pool deck area is painted with a thick black/brown paint, making it impossible to walk on during the day.
The pool itself was dirty on one day (strange oil like substance floating on top) and overloaded with chlorine the next, making it not really usable.
All (but 4 of the staff members) are extremely unfriendly and not helpful or welcoming. Especially the concierge who helped us with our bags, which he threw on our front door. In a resort like this you’re supposed to feel welcomed but we felt anything but. Many of them also didn’t speak English at all which made it impossible to communicate.
The bathroom in our room was like a construction zone, walls and ceilings were crumbling and things were falling apart, making it rather unsafe to enter and use.
The breakfast is sad. Quality of food is subpar and tasteless.
The whole resort needs more upkeep. It looks run down with floors, ceilings, lights (the list goes on) not being maintained to the standard you’d expect
Their online communication also lacks clarity and professionalism
All in all, for the price we’ve paid we felt scammed. I’d refrain from staying here again myself and would advise against anyone...
Read moreNice resort , right on the beach. Accomodation lovely, large chalet type rooms with terrace, everything you could want in a room, AC , fridge and safe. So far so good , so why 3 stars, well that's down to staff and amenities.
First night there asked in reception where there any bars or restaurants near by, only to have a female member of staff shout out " eat here first" it felt like an order, I will admit the other staff where quite embarrassed.
The shop on site is a joke, great if you want to by in bulk and not much stock.
Staff generally didn't seem bothered, the amount of times there were 4 or 5 sitting around the bar while I or others wanted serving was unbelievable.
They have a sign around the pool stating you couldn't reserve sunbeds with a towel, if you did, these could be removed by staff or other guests. Every day the pool sunbeds where reserved by guests, no one did a thing and I don't think you should put it on your guests to remove towels from reserved sunbeds, I think that's asking for trouble.
Breakfast is buffet service, so four days of cold breakfast, unless you wanted an omelet, which was freshly cooked. Strange things served, cold mash potato and fried tomato paste, I know many places use the left overs from the night before, but you have to draw a line somewhere.
The restaurant menu is very limited.
Had to reset the shower every day more than once to get hot water, but no directions on how to do so.
There are several restaurants on the main road along with ATMs and laundry's. Also a couple of restaurant along the beach.
All in all not the greatest place to lodge, sadly most of it could be fixed with staff training.
Wouldn't...
Read moreThe hotel is ok, it really depends on what you’re looking for.||We stayed for 1 night and decided to move on to another hotel because it wasn’t for us. The price of the tops rooms here was the same for a really nice room with sea view at a much nicer hotel. (Anda Lanta Resort) but we did book these all the night before so prices far in advance may vary. ||It has a good size clean pool and lots of sunbeds right on the beach. The beach is long and sandy but very little shade from any trees etc. I’m very pale so struggled with the lack of shade here. ||We didn’t have any food or drink here other than breakfast. Breakfast is basic, they have everything you’d want. Hot food, cereal, fruit, pastries, tea, coffee etc but it’s basic and not that nice. ||The room aren’t so nice. Again it depends what you’d like. For a place to sleep and not spend much time it’s fine. But the beds are rock hard and thin. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re older or have back issues. The bathroom was clean and shower fine but the sheets did have a lot of stains on. You have a couple of chairs and small balcony off your room but it’s not the nicest place to sit. ||Staff are really nice and very helpful. There’s a great restaurant, No1 on trip advisor, called Malians, just up the road which is really nice and cheap too. ||Overall, it’s a cheaper feeling hotel with the basics. If you just want sun and sand it’s fine. If you want something a bit more relaxing, luxurious and with more options for everything then I’d go to Anda...
