Thai House Beach Resort — Hotel in Ko Lanta Yai

Koh Lanta was a last second decision, I knew I wanted to dive so I was planning to go diving with Dive & Relax and the transport dropped me there. I did not have a place to sleep booked yet though. D&R suggested a neighboring hostel or Thai House Beach Resort and I am so glad I decided for the latter. The bungalows are roomy, simple but very clean, there is a beautiful lush path leading from the bungalows to the sea where you can also enjoy in the beachfront restaurant Fat turtle. Everything is very well kept and tucked away from the main road so its very quiet. There is also a massage parlor next to the beach and if you fancy yoga you can just step next door to the Sanctuary they have yoga classes everyday at about 9:30. The Thai house has a great location, next to 7/11 store a great coffee house and restaurants, info spot and rental places so its easy to navigate around. But what really makes it stand out is the team that works there. I really enjoyed my stay as a single traveller as Aom and Ni their front desk receptionists were super friendly and welcoming, helped organize my transports, call a cooking class, organized laundry and even took time to teach me how to drive a scooter safely and worked with me on the parking lot until I had some practice and felt confident. We could not have had a better experience recently at this resort! It's right off a main street with so many great restaurant options. It's tucked back off the street in a lush surrounding, right on the beach and is so peaceful and quiet but a few short steps from anything you would need ie. 7/11, ATM, Pharmacy etc. The value for what you get is incredible, with private little bungalows, beautifully landscaped grounds, the most accommodating staff you could ever imagine.

I can't say enough good things about the staff here. Anything we needed they would help us figure out and arrange. Scooter rentals, finding helmets (as the scooters do not come with them!), beginner Muay Thai class; anything you want, they do their very best to arrange.

The amenities at such a small resort were amazing as well! The restaurant on site was great, well priced, big portions. The beach that it's situated on was clean, quiet, and beautiful and the massages on site were the best massages we've ever had; at sunset with the waves and the music from the restaurant nonetheless.

Stayed here to begin my stay on Lanta given the proximity to the dive centre at castaway. Stayed in a garden bungalow which was clean and comfortable and serviced each day without special request. Bed comfy, bathroom ok if a little strangely arranged with shower in between sink and toilet but not an issue as floor well sloped to ensure is dry after very short period of time after a shower. Water pressure low however I believe that is the case everywhere on Lanta as other resort was much the same, was not an issue for me.|Tea and coffee provided with kettle & fridge, both worked well.|AC in room worked well.|Location is very good with a short stroll down the path to Long Beach, my bungalow the furthest from the beach and was still very close. Is a short walk up to the main road where there is 7/11 & ATMs|Staff are available from 8am to 8pm and nothing is a problem for them and the owner, Kim, is about most of the day and is a delightful host.
