We LOVED our stay at Cozy Guesthouse! We stayed in the Orange Room and it has better ocean views than some far more expensive places we stayed on this trip. Room is very clean. Bathroom is basic, but does the job and is certainly commensurate with the room rate. Plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed and pillows. Even though the guesthouse is on a main thoroughfare, we heard no road noise at all. The neighbours on one side enjoyed a bit of fun when they finished work at 11pm each night, but this was short in duration and after that long a day, who can blame them? We dined in the restaurant once and really enjoyed our Sea Bass and amazing chocolate chilli truffles!! Breakfast fruit plate was generous and of high quality. The varied and quality drinks list and spectacular passionfruit mojito(!) make Cozy worth a stop, if only for a drink or two! Plenty of local food options within walking distance. A nice clean swimming beach is about 5min walk. Just as close is a fabulous beachside bar/restaurant with well made drinks for sunset (Fat Turtle). Scooter hire and laundry is easily organised by Cozy. And we LOVE that they are onboard the Trash Hero bandwagon in reducing plastic waste by lending us stainless steel water bottles during our stay that we freely refilled downstairs and at other eco friendly businesses on Koh Lanta. Awesome! But the absolute very best thing about Cozy is the people. This guesthouse is thoughtfully set up and well run by two lovely Swedes and a team of super friendly locals. We LOVE you Bamboo! The Cozy team really are what makes this place a home away from home. And you know how sometimes you really crave that feeling on holidays in hotels and resorts? Fortunately for us, the folks down the road at 5-star Pimalai Resort got the dates of our stay with them confused and we got to stay at Cozy for one more night! Yay! We will be back. Definitely. And for a much longer stay. This place has all you need for relaxing holiday and to connect with the...
Read moreBest food we’ve had in Thailand! We stumbled across this gem earlier in the day when walking the main road, and was able to make a reservation via Facebook messenger! We didn’t have to wait long at all for a reply. It’s really helpful, as we don’t have a number out here to have made the call. As for the restaurant! We were met by the very kind owner who walked us to our table, and what can I say?! It’s Cozy! Really relaxed, chilled out and a lovely vibe to it. The food was incredible. We’ve been in Thailand for 9+ days now and been in (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and Phi Phi) and it’s in Koh Lanta and at Cozy where we had the best meal of our trip so far. We’re going back tomorrow! We opted for the Thai Tapas of (Massaman Curry, Golden Bag Dumplings, Chicken Sausage, Shredded beef in mint and chilli and a steamed rice), we washed it down with some wine and beer, and then ended the lovely visit with Pecan Pie and ice cream for dessert. One of the waitresses (who were all fantastic and kind and welcoming) saw me contemplating whether anyone was looking and whether I should lick the plate clean or not… 😂 A thoroughly pleasant and great culinary experience. Keep up the great work and thank you for tonight. As for the cost? You get what you pay for……..
and as I said above, we’re heading...
Read moreNice atmosphere and very modern restaurant. Very good and attentive service. Large craft beer menu. Gin and tonics menu. A nice selection of main dishes, appetizers and thai style tapas. The drinks were creative and well made with great presentation. The wine we had was a nice Rose from Chili that was good and dry.
The food quality and plating was good. The tapas had nice flavour, however the Chi Chi Seabass tapa tasted like it was cooked in older oil. The beef waterfall salad tender and delicious. The Cauliflower risotto creamy and rich. The Seabass cooked excellent .
All was good except for the mashed potatoes. Sadly these tasted like a mix of instant potatoes and they were so over salted, I don’t think anyone in the kitchen quality checked these. They were inedible. We told the waitress, but nothing was offered to be remade with no resolution. My wife’s dinner was just the fish and some veggies with two prawns, thus leaving her hungry...
