this was one of the worst guest houses i ever stayed in. this was on par in dirtiness, rudeness, dishonesty and noisy with a guest house in george town, malaysia. both are Indian owned.
we came to koh phi phi and stayed the first night in uphill resort. which was clean and decent. we paid 900 bahts there but looked for a cheaper guest house. we found the owner standing in the street giving leaflets about his hotel. room with aircon was 700 bahts, he told us.
so we went there to see the room. at first glance it all looked ok. except that the Indian owner smelled really bad. so we decided to stay there for one night so we can decide later if we wanted to stay longer.
1- the house is opposite reggae bar, the biggest bar in koh phi phi which holds thai boxing every night as well. music is so loud that you feel like you are trying to sleep inside a night club. the music went on till 2.30 am. there was no chance of sleeping. we didnt not know neither did the indian owner told us that the music will be so loud. it was same as trying to sleep in a night club.
2- right next door to the house is a karaoke bar (brothel) where drunk thais practice their singing skills till 3 am. it is also so loud that you cant sleep. thought you can learn about thai music whole night for free...))))))
3- the walls are made from cardboard and you can hear every thing form every where. the room given to us had a big hole in the ceiling cause by rain. ceiling was also made from cardboard. in the morning we found that our backpack which was lying in the corner, was wet due to the rain water. water had been leaking silently when it rains.
4- the mattress were so soft that you would bend and have a back ache in the morning. pillows were similar quality. the mattress may be as old as i am. 5- the bed was full of bugs. we had to use mosquito repellent to stop them biting us. 6- bathroom was full of sand which i thought they will clean before we checked in. nope they did not. 7- there was no water at night. the owner switches off the water at night. he told me in the morning. 8- i paid for a room with air con. that was 700 baths. air con was not working and even though we complained, he never fixed it. 9- we paid 300 bahts deposit which was supposed to be returned. well when we checked out, the owner disappeared and we had to catch a ferry to krabi. we could not wait any longer. he never gave us the 300 bahts. totally dishonest.
my advice NEVER EVER COME HERE AND IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT PLEASE GO AND SEE IT YOURSELF. THIS GUEST HOUSE...
Read moreThe WORST experience ever! I have been travelling two months around Asia, and this Hotel was really bad.
Cockroachs, humidity, dirty bathroom, but the worst problem was a music show of Heavy Metal music inside a dark little bar that the Hotel has next to the Reception between the rooms of all the guests.
I do not mind about the simplicity and the size of the room, we just wanted to sleep.
But it was impossible to sleep because they played music alive until 2.00am!!! The place is located in the city center but All the bars and restaurants near by closed at midnight!!... but the Hotel keep his music show Really loud. Only local people in that show. If they want to do a music show, they should not have a Hotel.
The following morning the staff woke us up at 7am asking if we were going to do the check out that day (instead of waiting until 11am). That was ridiculous and unrespectful. Of course we complained about the noise but they did not want to give us a refund.
They knew that the guests were going to complain after that crazy noise.
We do not recommend to stay...

We stayed in 2 private rooms this past week. This place doesn't deserve even 1 star. We arrived at 6pm, and no one was around to check us in for at least half an hour. She opened our doors to our rooms and then left. The bathroom door of one of our rooms was locked shut, so she decided to spartan kick it open, breaking a hole in the middle of the door. The room smelt like and was covered in mould, the airconditionning was broken, bathroom was dirty, no toilet paper was given, our bed frame was broken, and our bedsheets were stained and ripped. Because the airconditioner was broken, the pipes leading to it were leaking onto the floor soaking all of our stuff and the only space to get to the bed. While we were packing up to leave, cockroaches ran out of our bags- and they are not the only bugs there as we have bites from bedbugs too.
I understand that this hostel is cheap, but please don't make the same mistake we did. If you are going to Phi Phi, spend the extra $5 or sleep outside... it would be better...
