Comfy bed, clean and cosy room great view, friendly professional and efficient staff - effortless and well organised from start to finish - fantastic :) more compliments to follow I am sure :)
The food in the resto is a little on the pricey side but as it turns out well worth it. The ingredients are good quality and fresh, the flavours delicious and the menu offers something for every palette. The line soda with honey or straight is almost addictive.... The staff here as in the rest of the complex are helpful friendly and courteous. Nice to hear the waves lapping the beach as a perpetual soundtrack to eating, drinking and meandering.
My only critique would be one concerning sustainability and the environment. Abundant use of plastics and a lack of renewable energies seems odd given that everything here feels as though the hotel and its operation want to be in tune with nature and the environment. I feel as though this is exactly the place that has all the ingredients to least the way for this, hence the note as part of this review. I hope with time this might be addressed.
Also, the Brown Cabin Chlorate Cafe across the road has really good pastries - though available a la carte, the breakfast buffet would benefit very much from mini pastries made from that cafe.
In the meantime thank you for the very pleasant stay, the attention to detail and for waving us off...
Read moreI stayed at a quiet mini resort, which was great for peace and quiet. The best part was the chocolate cabin in the woods behind it. The infinity pool was mostly quiet and the rooms were cleaned well, which was important to me as someone with OCD. Despite being on the ground level with a sea view, I didn't encounter any bugs or ants inside. The staff was decent, but not overly welcoming or friendly. Jik, who worked at the reception, was helpful and booked reservations for us at restaurants and other Samed group resorts. However, the resort was a bit far (15-minute drive) from everything else, making it quite a ride by motorbike or taxi. The distance felt longer when traveling around the island. My least favourite thing was the breakfast restaurant. The Japanese style seating, while great for lunches or dinners, became annoying after a day or two, especially during breakfast when I needed to get up several times and bruised myself getting up. The restaurant also had an ant problem, which made me feel very uneasy and ruined my enjoyment of breakfast. I wished we hadn't included breakfast at the hotel. I felt that the same hygiene methods used for the rooms should be applied to the restaurant to prevent...
Read moreI wasn’t at hotel, but at restaurant. In google Maps i searched for breakfast restaurant. And got this as very good rated result. Well. I am just there. They don’t offer breakfast and even don’t have a breakfast menu. That’s not what made me angry. I ordered a cappuccino. The waiter asked me hot or cold. I told him hot and he accepted. 3 min later he came to me and asked me to order again on a different menu. I didn’t understand. Then he told me they don’t have cappuccino now, but he can bring me from the neighbours bar one. For 100 baht. Ok. I ordered. After 15 min my coffee came. And I had to pay directly to the girl from the other bar. The other drinks from the restaurant we got after asking 2 times for them. They came after the food. The food was not „the best“. I ordered an omelette with prawns. I think I got an „oil soup with omelette and prawns“. After the half omelette my stomach was so full and not possible to drink or eat anything else… ah jeah - i asked for an ashtray. They told me to go on the street in front of the restaurant to smoke. Even on the beach it’s not allowed. Well, what can I say. I think I will never come back again. And that makes me a little bit happy in...
