Stayed for 4 nights with my family. The older kids shared anther room and my wife and 2 yr old shared the other room.|My wife became upset when on second day tried to speak to manager about cleaning our room better as we weren't happy with the cleanliness. The manager criticised how my wife spoke ( She s from Cambodia has lived in Thailand 20 yrs and speaks good Thai) and rudely asked where she is from as she speaks like their housekeeping staff and not clear. This greatly upset my wife. The standard of housekeeping could have been better- the basin plug hole was dirty, with no drain cover, the bathroom mirror had a thick layer of dust over the top - our room could have been cleaned better ( needed a deep clean).||The kids room was in better condition. We stayed out the way and ate in the local town which we enjoyed the walk -and the last day we went to another beach.||On checking out at reception i tried explaining to the husband of the manager ( who is English same as me) about my wife being unhappy being snapped at about her accent/ wheres she s from - when all my wife was trying to do was ask for the room to be cleaned better and fresh towels.||This managers husband wasn't helpful at all and very defensive about anything we mentioned.|As part of my work i do Heath and Hygiene Inspections as i ve worked on Rigs and Vessels Offshore- so i notice a-lot- ||Now i appreciate it s been tough times since Covid and many of us have struggled- including Hotel accommodation. |I have stayed in huts in the jungle, roughed it in the desert, the roughest backpacker places, to top class hotels and have NEVER fallen out with management or had a problem with this attitude.||I commented on the hand gel push tops at reception that were dirty and was told i was a "mug" because they contain disinfectant- so in didn't matter.|My point was that they looked dirty. ||We then left as a Tuk Tuk was waiting.||If you cant take criticism or comments on your property or service and not listening to the customer - who has payed money to you-|Then your in the wrong game.||( on our booking website i wrote the review and the reply from the accommodation had tried to make us look bad and even said things that were not true, this upset my wife alot- we are good people and give respect when given- )|This situation should never have...
Read moreA sort walk from the ferry - we arrived earlier than check-in time but owner Mark kindly arranged for us to have our room straight away. Relaxing at the bar (which is also reception) we unwound as we listened to a fellow traveller ask for 50ml of rum to go into his fresh coconut juice, served in the coconut. Yum! ||Mark and his wife Minnie (after whom the resort is named) perfectly compliment each other and endeavour to make sure visitors are happy throughout the stay at this very small and intimate family-run resort.||The rooms are very comfortable and immaculately clean, with tea and coffee making facilities, refrigerator, TV and Wi-Fi - we had several nights, in two different rooms. Little balconies on each bungalow and aircon to keep room cool. If rooms 1, 2 and 3 are available when you book opt for those as they have the best views over the beach. Pleased to say there are safety deposit boxes. ||Minnie is a great cook so we enjoyed delicious Thai food and Mark cooks a mean full English breakfast! (which my husband adored because we’d already been moving around the country for a few weeks and he was ready for a taste of home) ||Just a few steps across the minor road to the beach with comfortable low chairs, hammock swing and lovely warm sea for a swim. It’s interesting here in that further out to sea there is plenty of movement of local boats so you’re not just looking at a blank ocean. Would recommend the cocktails from the bar. Great sundowners enjoyed here. ||It is a good central base from which to explore the island - we hired a scooter, happy to go off on jaunts and very happy to return to Minnie Seaview. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance and it’s easy to get taxis to venture further afield. Mark is only too happy to recommend places to visit. ||But I have to include one here, which is to make sure to have a massage - ask Mark, he will tell you where. ||Have to apologise it’s taken far too long to review our stay here - I had difficulty getting it to send previously. ||Definitely a place with a family feel, a warm welcome and very friendly atmosphere. Just the place to relax! We loved it here and had a great stay; would have stayed longer but all rooms were fully booked. Wish Mark and Minnie all the best and thank...
Read moreLocation is far from ideal, on google maps it looks the houses are on the beach side and the main road is behind them. In real life the main road is just 3-4 meters from the door in between houses and beach. Conseqvently Noisy, and dangerous particularly if you have your kids with you. Some of the houses has no seeview, which could be fine if they are not standing in front of a dirty and dingy area. Houses have old furnitures, some of them broken, generally they are in much worse condition than look like on pictures you can find on booking. Extra beds what we asked were two old dirty mattresses, not the one you would like to sleep in Thailand particularly if doors and windows are not closing properly, cockroaches easily can dance on you while you are sleeping. We catch some during that night we finally spend there, instead of the three we booked initially. Beach bar was ok, however overpriced vs quality and location. Beach itself is narrow and close to a dingy area. Owner did some try to separate the beach from the nasty surrandings but it is not really work. I think this place must be much more transparent on booking or other website about conditions and curcumstances to avoide disappointed customers like us who lost money and time finding other...
