I would say that this thai restaurant is a cut above the typical restaurant you find in Ko Samed. It is elegant, authentic, and patronised by the thai instead of foreigners, which is always a good mark of authenticity.
Their Tom Kha soup was outstanding, coconuty and flavorful. Their deep fried crab roll was chock full of chunk crab meat, very delicious. The crab omelette was very well done, expertly fried and flavored that every bit was umami.
The taste of the pork in shrimp paste was wonderfully complex, albeit a little overcooked. The stir fried fern with salted fish was such a nice balance of greens and brininess, creating a full palate of deliciousness.
The shrimp with garlic and chilli was another winner, every spoon of the crispy bits was a perfect harmony of garlic goodness and spice.
As for dessert, the banana fritters were nicely fried, not oily, with a hint of burnt caramel. The homemade drinks were very appetizing and fresh - loved the butterfly pea lime with soda.
Definitely hands down the best thai restaurant...
Read moreWe re visited this restaurant for a second time and brought friends.... When my husband was ordering his meal he pointed to the picture on the menu but the waiter just asked him in a hurried way to give him the number rather than the picture The meal they brought to the table for him was not what he ordered...there was obviously a misunderstanding due to language barriers.... We reordered another meal as he really couldn't eat the incorrect one...he is allergic to squid! We explained this but the waiter basically argued this is what you ordered and you have to pay for it!! What ever happened to customer relations!! We were disgusted with the attitude and will never return!! The food was only medioka this time round and despite the charm of the structure of the dining seating ( which was the main attraction in the first place) I would not recommend...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant only to eat. The hotel is very nice. The meeting arrangement is very nice. They have arranged the tables very loosely so that no one disturbs each other. As the hotel is on the beach, it felt very nice and different to take off the slippers/boots and sit in the hotel. The bathroom is very clean. Rates are same as other hotels. Dine anywhere in Koh Samet only 5-10% difference in bill. Food quality is amazing. The service is a bit slow but it's ok everyone is here to relax. There is a 7.45 pm fire show on Fridays and Saturdays. It is a very nice and watchable show. As the hotel is on the beach, the atmosphere is very nice. There is plenty of space...
