Rainbow Sky Hotel Samet — Hotel in Ko Samet

I’m not usually one to leave reviews but feel I need to warn others.The hotel is located reasonably well, not far from the port but that is where the positives end unfortunately.||The hotel is run down and extremely dirty.||The first thing you will notice is the smell when you walk into the room.||The bathroom had build up of slime in corner of tiles, the towel rail was falling off the wall and so was the vanity.||To be fair when I pointed this out they did offer us another room which I had a look at and it was no different, they all smelt very musty and had been poorly cleaned. The general communal area of the hotel is very dirty as well.||There seemed to be staff standing around not doing anything when they could be cleaning the place up to try and attract tourists back.||Breakfast came with the room where they give you a picture of your choices and what you get won’t match what you choose, one pic shows bacon and what you get is processed triangle bits of ham.||Very difficult to communicate because no one speaks English very well.||We were talking to the lady at the front counter and she grabs her baby child and puts him on top of the counter and pulls off his full nappy in front of us, I couldn’t believe it.||The lady at the front counter didn’t seem to care too much when we told her of the issues and if you read other reviews that had similar problems she says the issues will be addressed but they haven’t been. There were no other people staying at the hotel, even though on Agoda it says it is the last room available.||I’m not sure how it’s got such a high rating on Agoda but don’t be fooled by that or the photos.||We ended up checking out early and going elsewhere. i stayed here with the wife and her family lets start with the bad the breakfast was terrible fried eggs cold and like rubber. the hard boiled eggs sent back twice cause they were like water and the rest was set for locals as was like rice soup and some veg. The rooms had a slightly damp smell and on occasions i had bugs coming out my sink. The downstairs toilet was minging and could do with a proper clean to remove all the cobwebs the true vision box didnt work and the internet was poor and would come and go. now for some of the better parts. the manager im guessing he was let me at least try and stream the football but as internet was intermittent that was a fail. A favor: Localización, no está junto a locales de ocio nocturno por lo que el entorno no es ruidoso por la noche. El personal es amable y colaborador. Pudimos alquilar moto, en muy buen estado y a precio normal. Enfrente del hotel, a la derecha, puedes repostar (foto). Las habitaciones están "parcialmente" reformadas. Repito: parcialmente. Hay bastantes tomas de corriente en la habitación. Hay una pequeña nevera, también caja fuerte en la habitación. La habitación da a la parte trasera, ves el mar aunque tienes delante una chapa de uralita (fotos). A la derecha ves un solar donde acumulan trastos en una esquina. Pero la habitación es tranquila; las habitaciones que dan a la calle tienen el ruido del paso constante de las motos. Está a un corto paseo a pie de 10 ó 15' de la playa. En el camino encuentras tiendas de conveniencia, restaurantes, bares, tiendas de recuerdos, de ropa, etcétera.

En contra: No limpiaron la habitación ni el baño en los cuatro días. La habitación tiene una pequeña terraza. No sé cuándo fue la última vez que la limpiaron... Tuvimos que pedir toallas, jabón y papel higiénico en recepción cada vez que los necesitábamos. El sumidero de la ducha tarda en tragar el agua. Al llegar a la habitación, encontré una taza con el asa rota. La llevé a recepción para que supieran que ya estaba rota. Nunca me dieron otra taza (foto). No hay ascensor. Desayuno un poco pobre. Te sirven en mesa y eliges de una carta. El fiambre es de calidad muy pobre, lo mejor son los huevos con ensalada. No hay opción de fruta. El café es de mala calidad. Es mejor pedir Nescafé.
