I'm a professional travel agent and travel expert. I inspect hotel throughout Asia for 6 months already. Big hotel chains has hosted me for a reviews in media in my country.|Bofore leaving Thailand I decided to spend some time on a beautiful beach Ao Cho of Samet Island. That's the most beautiful beach here with clear cristal waters and white sand. The resort itself is very old, Iean The Grand View Ao Cho redort which manages Tropical Samet Resort.||And Tropical Samet Resort is a newly built part of it. The construction looks very good, but only looks. It is very bad done in details. I stay on a standard room on th second floor. Good bed, no furniture at all. No table, no any chair. So you will not be able to work eith your notebook for some time if you need.|The shower is only the wall shower. So when you walk in from the beach you can not only just wash your legs off the sand, you gonna need take your all body shower. It's very inconvenient. For ladies especially, there is only one mirror in the bath room and there is no light to see your face appropriately. So, forget about making a good makeup.||There's no safebox in the room. Pay attention to it! You will have to take all your valuables and belongins with you always!||No any special place to allicate your luggage. No shelves. ||The good thing is that you sleep in a new bed. And the room is fresh. But it will be downgraded quickly because the quality of works is so poor. The locker in the door is electronic but it is shacking like it is broken.||The restaurant of the resort is very expensive. And the service is very slow and bad. Today I had a dinner. There were only two tables occupied. I waited for my club sandwich for 30 mins. I also ordered hot latte and tgey brought me cappuccino. Ok, I decided to check and ordered latte again. Same. They brought me cappuccino, bitter cappuccino again. Although the restaurant has wide variety of coffee in the menu. And it's definitely supposed to understand the difference between latte and cappuccino. I waited for another cup of coffee 10 mins)) What could be easier to push the button in the coffee machine)) ||Also how come to mix ketchup and maionese? The chef, where are you from? Are you from far resorted village from the mountains in Thailand?||For those travellers who wish to stay here and enjoy the best beach, the hotel is still in shape noting the fact that even bad bad resorts on the island are all full because of high demand now, I advise you to eat in a small cafe like a rasta-bar on the beach. The service is very quick, very delicious, even soups and 2 times cheaper then in the hotel restaurant.||Have a safe and...
Read moreWe stayed 5 nights at Samed Tropical and overall it was fantastic. After exploring the island, we were so happy we chose this resort, it has beautiful surroundings and very friendly staff.
Highlights: Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas on the beach. Beach towels provided. You can borrow snorkels to view the giant clams, great for a fun, easy activity. Walk out near the pier to avoid the rocks. Thoughtful touches in the room like a beach bag, flip flops, and umbrellas (great for the rainy season!). Comfortable bed, effective air conditioning, kettle and fridge. Breakfast had a good variety of fresh foods, changed daily across our 5-day stay, and included vegetarian options. Evening entertainment with live music, a movie, and a fire show was a fun touch. Despite some construction near the entrance, noise wasn’t noticeable from our room and didn’t affect our stay. Great location. Recommend that you walk around the corner to V Café for good coffee and a stunning beach view. From the resort you can walk across beaches on both sides (not shown on Google Maps). Following signs and asking locals, we easily walked back from 7-11 in the main town along the beach in about 15–20 minutes.
Room / resort suggestions: Our room was on a main walkway, so sheer curtains or blinds would help with privacy without making the room too dark. More lighting inside the room would be helpful. A doormat, bedside tables, soap dish, full-length mirror, and a larger/smart TV would make the stay even better. Little storage space in the room. Minor issues: a stain on the sofa bed and breakfast sometimes lacked hot sauce; the egg chef wasn’t always around. Dinner restaurant was quite expensive and had no vegetarian options. Evening movie was hard to hear over the live music and fire show, moving it slightly away or changing the time might improve this.
Overall, Samed Tropical is a comfortable and welcoming resort with lots of thoughtful touches. We...
Read moreSo you’ve decided to holiday on Ko Samet and picked this shiny “new” resort. Fantastic choice—especially if you’ve always dreamed of gazing at… absolutely nothing from your window. Who needs a view when the sand is five steps away, right?||Room & Bathroom|The bedroom is cozy—that’s realtor-speak for “hope you packed light.” But fear not: the bathroom is enormous, clearly designed for people who enjoy staging Broadway numbers while flossing.||Guest Mix & Atmosphere|Expect a zen-like hush, broken only by independent Chinese travelers and chilled-out Europeans. No megaphones, no matching caps, no tour-bus stampedes. If you thrive on chaos, look elsewhere.||Mozzie HQ|Ko Samet is Mosquito Central. Your room will smell as if a small war was fought (and mostly lost) with bug spray. Pack industrial-strength repellent—especially at dinner, when the insects host their nightly buffet (you’re the buffet).||Food & Drink|Breakfast? Perfectly “fine dining” if your standards hover around acceptable fuel for humans. The resort bar is gorgeous—picture-perfect for Insta, but your credit card might request counseling afterward. Pro tip: stroll 100 meters to a humble shack-bar and watch the same sunset for one-third the price.||Beach Reality Check|Yes, it’s tropical, yes, it’s pretty… and yes, there are rocks—lots of them. Tiptoe near the jetty if foot punctures aren’t on your bucket list.||Final Verdict|Ideal for two days of professional lounging, aggressive bug-spraying, and low-key eye-rolling at fancy cocktail prices. If that’s your jam, congratulations—you’ve found...
