From the moment we arrived all the staff were fabulous and very friendly and helpful.
Chai checked us in and helped us settle in, giving us all the initial information we needed. James Bond who works at the pool bar and breakfast restaurant was very helpful too. He ensured we knew where to go for our first evening, and made sure that we would not get scammed by the local taxis.
Take the red taxi, you can wave them down on the evening, and they won’t charge you more than 100THB per person for most rides.
He ensure that we had everything we required for food and drinks both by the pool and for breakfast. His colleagues Mr Chai, Sky and Onan were very helpful too. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness and friendliness.
The pool sits under some trees so do expect so small foliage to fall but it is kept clean throughout the day, and there are steps down onto the beach where you will find tables, giant beanbags and waterproof beanbags too. These are great for sitting on the edge of the water.
There is a massage place at the hotel beach club, where you can have all types of treatments. The owner Mai is very friendly too. The guys who run the jet ski and water sports next door on the beach are helpful and were very open when allowing you to go far on the jet ski too.
You can rent a kayak from Blue Turtle nearby, which was good but be careful as the seabed can be a bit rocky in places, so try to bring water shoes if you can.
The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is open plan but also huge. There is an outside seating area for each room which is a lovely place to chill out occasionally.
The daytime menu at the pool is quite accommodating but definitely does offer lots of fresh fruit smoothies, Thai food and cocktails. Breakfast upstairs in the morning is very good, there is so much choice and also lots of fresh juice and fruit too. The cooked breakfast was somewhat traditional with noodles and bao but also eggs and chicken sausages were available. Eggs were great and a perfect accompaniment to the friend chicken and pancakes. The takeaway iced latte kept me going in the morning.
Thank you to everyone, all the housekeeping staff especially Kitty and Gai. Also a big thanks to Katty and Note at reception too for helping us with our keys.
Overall, we loved it here because it was on the quiet side of the island and the North part of Chaweng beach which is about 20min walk from Central Samui Night Market. If that’s what you’re after, then this is the place!
See you soon 🤍🙏🏻
Extra tips: There is a 7/11, Pharmacy and massage place just across the road. There is also a place to rent...
Read moreNot great. Falls well below the standards of a 4-star hotel and it would be much better advertising itself as a 3-star. It is more like a glorified hostel.
Accor Platinum status recognition is appalling. The room I have been allocated is austere, dark, there is only one bedside table, and it was dirty when I arrived (dust everywhere, sink leaking). Certainly not the usual Accor standard. To be fair, they did fix these two issues after I complained but they shouldn't occur to begin with.
The soundproofing is dreadful. You can hear everything from outside and from the room next to you - there is zero privacy - this includes being able to hear conversations, intimate noises etc etc. This means I haven't had one proper sleep since arriving.
The 'welcome drink' cannot be used for anything other than a mocktail or soft drink. This is the first time as a Platinum member I have ever been told I can't use the voucher for a glass of wine (even at a basic Ibis a glass of wine has never been an issue).
They charge for ice - again, far from the normal service at a hotel supposedly at this level. The breakfast is poor - very little variety, flies everywhere and uncovered food. Processed burger cheese slices, cheap frankfurter sausages - it's clear the aim is to spend the minimum possible and the majority of it is repulsive.
This said, all of the staff are very pleasant and friendly. They clearly do try their absolute best to provide a very positive experience. It's a shame they are being let down by subpar hotel policies and stingy management.
It would be far better for this hotel to be honest about what they are, rather than pretending to be something they are not. I would then have chosen to stay somewhere else. While I suspect it provided a slightly better experience when it was a newer property, it is now clearly showing its age and certainly does not offer...

Rating:
• Location: 3/5 (Beautiful location but challenging to get to) • Rooms: 3/5 (Clean and spacious but could use some improvements) • Service: 4/5 (Fantastic staff but inconsistent room service)
Overall: 3.5/5
Donkey and I, along with a group of friends, rode our motorbikes all the way from Singapore to Koh Samui and decided to spend two nights at Homm Chura Samui (โฮมชูร่า สมุย). This resort is located in the northeast of Koh Samui, up a steep slope. Getting there was a bit of a challenge, especially since we encountered some bad weather and flooding along the way. Since the resort is mostly unsheltered, you need to be prepared to walk with an umbrella if it's raining.
The rooms were clean and spacious, and we appreciated the balcony where we could smoke. They provided all the basic amenities, like a hairdryer. However, we did notice that the water from the shower tasted a bit salty and left a slightly sticky feeling on our skin. The rooms were clean, but we also noticed some sand on the floors, so a thorough cleaning before check-in would be ideal. The breakfast was basic, but the staff was fantastic. They helped us arrange a bouquet of flowers for one of our friend's wedding proposals, booked a massage at Urban Thai for us, and even arranged a minivan to take us to dinner for the proposal. We really appreciated their helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile.
While the staff was great, we did find that the room service was a bit lacking. Our towels were not replaced with fresh ones after the service; they were simply folded and recycled. Also, we had to ask for toothbrushes and toothpaste. However, the resort did provide two umbrellas and flip-flop slippers for each room, which was a thoughtful gesture and useful for guests who might encounter bad weather or prefer to not wear...
