Stayed at gampanat guesthouse for 6 nights in with my boyfriend whilst in pai. Planned on staying for 2 but ended up there for 6. ||On arrival the couple who run the guesthouse could not do enough for you, ever so friendly, helping us with our luggage offering us water and fruit and giving us a map and showing us all the top spots to visit when in pai. After we settled in they gave us a lift into pai town to rent a motor cycle. ||The lady also done laundry for us free of charge and does not accept tips or money for this but does have a donation box on the reception that she collects instead for her family. ||after we asked to stay for longer than we planned there was no room in the guesthouse but they made room by letting us have the bungalow that their family uses when they stay which was very lovely of them for the same price. ||The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable with a hot shower, what more can you ask for on a budget hotel. they both work very hard to keep the guesthouse in a very good condition, honestly doesn't have any faults. Excellent price for a beautiful guesthouse with exceptional hosts. Location is also perfect in the ever so beautiful pai countryside. ||Thanks so much for...
Read moreVery surprised that this is advertised in Google as a four star hotel, it is a hostel and three stars (at best). We stayed for two nights early on in our trip (mid-October). The staff were smiley and friendly but sometimes we had to wait a couple of minutes at the desk for someone to come out. The location is perfect, about 50m back from the main walking street and there is a 7/11 right there as well as the night market.
The hostel itself did need a bit of refurbishment work, common areas are quite run down and don’t seem to be used a lot. We had a double private room with a bathroom (very small, the shower head was basically on top of the loo) and the room didn’t have any clothes storage (except for a chest of drawers which was blocked by a desk and also already stuffed with other peoples clothes). It was cheap but not as cheap as other hostels we’ve stayed in. The good factor is the location to amenities so that is probably what pushes the price up. Have heard from other travellers that there are definitely better...
Read moreThe couple that runs this guesthouse were so friendly and lovely! They offer to pick you up from the bus station, and even offered to drive us to the center of Pai if we needed. She also helped us rent a motorbike, and took us to the rental shop (they usually have someone that delivers the motorbike directly to the guesthouse, but they didn’t have any available during our stay). She offered us some fruit, and was always happy to help us out and gave us great recommendations. It’s a 5 minute drive to the center of Pai, so it’s conveniently located, also out of the main tourist area. There is a big garden area to relax in, either in a hammock or by one of the many seated areas. The room was small and clean, and there is a shared bathroom between the two rooms in the little tree hut, but it’s still great value compared to the price, and we were very content at this guesthouse, and will definitely stay here again if we ever...
