WOW Im the 1st to review!!? Guess not many knew of this place yah... Hhhmmm… ANYWAYS…||||I checked in here on 14th April. Paid USD 33 for 1 nite stay in the deluxe room without breakfast + free wifi.||||Hotel: Building is in a very good condition. Actually I think the hotel juz took up the middle portion of a long building… But nevertheless, the portion that belong to the hotel is decorated very nicely. I kinda like the exterior texture & colours. It gives u a warm & cozy feeling. The interior is neat & tidy, decorated with a mix of modern & old furniture. 1st impression of this hotel – NOT BAD.||||Location: Hotel is at the tip/beginning of Patong. As ur transport drive up the hill, u will see Welcome to Patong City sign. 2 minutes after, u will see entrance of Sea Pearl Villas Resort. And as ur transport drive down 2 minutes after that, there will be like a short cross junction… juz look straight ahead & u can actually see the hotel sign.||||The entertainment area, most restaurants, Bangla Road & the beach are quite a distance away. By walking, it will take you about 30-40 minutes. BUT not too worry, for those who knows how to ride a bike, even without a license, go rent one! Walk 3 mins along the main road there’s a the petrol station and less than 50 metres opposite, exactly at the cross junction there's a minimart named S&G Residence. Get ur scoots there. Rental of a scooter cost u only 200 Thai Baht / USD 6.50 per day!||||Staffs: You will be greeted at the reception/front desk area by casual dressed, young, frenly, sexy ladies. Hmmm.. that’s a 1st for me! And oh, the porter is frenly too!||||Room: The Deluxe room is big. Enuf room/space to run around & throw clothes all over. There’s closet in the room. TV with a few decent channels. No safety deposit box.||||Bed: The bed to me was ok. But my partner found it too hard & got up in the morning with quite a bad backache. There’s no extra pillow other than the 2 that’s already on the bed. Think it wouldn’t hurt if they could throw in more pillows.||||Bathroom: 2 minus point - 1st it is not the usual square or rectangle shape bathroom. 2nd it is small. Odd shape bathroom + small area = Claustrophobic. But it does have washing essentials! So that’s a thumbs up.||||Pool: There’s a small pool juz outside my room. 2-3 steps out the sliding door & into the pool!!||||Hotel guests: Saw a handful...
Read moreThe MT Hotel is situated in a predominately Thai neighbourhood in North Patong, just off the base of Patong Hill. There are many little street stalls close by where you can pick up Thai food and within a ten-minute walk there are a couple of good restaurants, Steak Tonight being one. If you are looking for a special evening with great Thai food and sweeping views over Patong Bay, then head up to Pensook View Café half way up Patong Hill, magnificent food at affordable prices. Just a two-minute walk from the hotel there is a 711 and there are several places in the area to get laundry done. Not too much in the way of entertainment although there is a bar just around the corner. There is no shortage of taxi options and tuk-tuks if you do wish to travel to any of the main entertainment areas. We used the Indrive app quite a lot. The MT Hotel is a wonderful budget hotel, we paid around 1,000 baht per night for a pool view room on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious, bright, airy and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge, we have never seen such a big bathroom in a budget hotel. The shower pressure was good and temperature controller worked well. The double bed was very comfortable and conducive for a goods night sleep. There was a long cabinet where you could set up a laptop and the WIFI worked fine. There was a small TV and fridge and also a safety deposit box. However, there was no kettle or tea or coffee provided so we ended up buying our own kettle for less than 200 baht as we were there for over a week. There was a large wardrobe with hangers provided so no problem in storing our clothes. The balcony was a good size with a small plastic table and chairs provided. It was a little stuffy there at times as the hotel room configuration was L shaped so little to no breeze made its way to the balconies. The staff at the MT Hotel were wonderful, always smiling and very helpful, true Thai hospitality. The swimming pool, whilst not too big, was good for cooling off and was a comfortable depth. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would have no hesitation in...
