My stay at Patong Bay Residence in Phuket was a mixed experience.
Check-in & Room Experience: Check-in was smooth, and unlike some other places, welcome drinks were available, though as a self-service option in a corner. Luggage assistance was not offered.
The room layout was interesting, divided into two sections with a sliding door separating them. The bedroom had balcony access, while the kitchen area had an island with two chairs, a sofa, and an almirah with a safe. There was a full-size refrigerator with a mini bar and snacks, along with the standard complimentary water bottles. Our room was on the 6th floor with a balcony facing the beach, but unfortunately, other buildings blocked the view, so there wasn’t a clear sea view.
Washroom & Amenities: The washroom was in great condition, though the provided shampoo and body wash were in very tiny quantities, requiring multiple requests for refills. Surprisingly, crockery and cutlery were not provided by default—we had to request them, and when they arrived, they came with a scrub and liquid soap, implying we had to wash them ourselves (a first-time experience for me in any hotel).
Cleanliness Issues: One major issue we faced was an ant problem around the kitchen area and even near the bedside. The staff sprayed and wiped the area multiple times, but the issue kept recurring. Despite requesting a room change, our request was not entertained. Additionally, when we requested extra glasses, they were never delivered to our room.
Sleep Quality & Facilities: Sleep quality was good, as the room was quiet with no disturbances.
The swimming pool on the ground floor was of a decent size, though we didn’t use it.
Breakfast & Staff Interaction: Breakfast was similar to my experience in Bangkok, meaning it lacked options for Indian guests. The selection included breads, yogurts, eggs, noodles, rice, chicken, fruits, tea, coffee, and salads, but the variety was underwhelming for someone looking for diverse meal choices.
Staff interaction was minimal, with little proactive service.
Location & Accessibility: The hotel is around 1.5 km from Patong Beach and about the same distance from Walking Street, making it a bit of a walk but manageable.
Overall Impression: While the room layout and facilities were decent, the ant issue, lack of proactive service, and limited breakfast options made the stay less enjoyable. For the price, there are better options in Patong with better service and cleanliness standards.

Read moreLocated in the picturesque Pantong Bay Area, the hotel initially captivates visitors with its prime location. Enveloped by the serene beauty of the bay, it offers an enticing promise of a tranquil escape. The area itself is abundant with attractions, from charming cafes and local eateries to stunning waterfront vistas and vibrant markets, making it a desirable spot for explorers eager to soak in the local culture. However, the allure of the location quickly fades once the realities of the hotel experience set in.
Upon arrival, guests are often perplexed by the stark contrast between the hotel’s promising setting and its steep pricing. Despite the expectation that the high cost would correspond to luxurious accommodations and superior service, this is sadly not the case. The hotel functions more as an apartment-style stay, which may appeal to those seeking the comforts of extended living, yet the premium rates do not align with the quality of the rooms provided. Many guests feel that the accommodations lack the finesse and amenities that should accompany such pricing, leaving them with a sense of dissatisfaction.
Moreover, a significant drawback is the staff's apparent reluctance to accommodate guest requests. Whether it’s a simple query or a more specific service requirement, the staff seem indifferent, which can be quite off-putting. Hospitality is a crucial element of any hotel experience, and the lack of it here is notably disappointing. For guests wishing for a hassle-free and accommodating stay, this aspect can be a dealbreaker.
On a brighter note, the surrounding area is undeniably appealing. The convenience of having affordable dining options and local attractions mere steps away is a major plus. For those inclined to explore, the nearby venues and activities provide a rich tapestry of experiences. From savoring local delicacies at nearby inexpensive restaurants to enjoying leisurely walks along scenic trails, the vicinity offers a delightful escape from the hotel’s shortcomings.
In summary, while the hotel benefits from an enviable location in the Pantong Bay Area, the overall experience may leave much to be desired. With high rates and insufficiently accommodating service, potential guests should weigh the pros and cons before opting for an extended stay here. Those who prioritize location and are prepared to explore beyond the hotel’s confines might find value in the setting, but for individuals seeking comfort and exceptional service within the hotel itself, alternatives might be worth...
Read moreVery bad service by the receptionist especially one of the male staff not helpful and friendly. No proper coordination update as the restaurant already written the room number to make during check out and the reception said maybe your bill in another for another room. I have repeat twice that the room number before sign the receipt but the end of check out still need to inform and wait for their confirmation from the restaurant again. As wasting time for customer waiting twice and repeating again and again as not very well known English language as well.
Very bad organize booking for spa and receptionist. I have make the reservation at the reception as the spa as close after 8pm but insist the reception staff said I didn’t confirm but they just write down. Then what is the purpose to make reservations and paid at spa? Need to back forth for the spa booking as already paid full amount before the spa massage. Hence, they said sorry only 1 massager available so please make another day appointment. Well tourist don’t stay there forever as if already make payment please serve paid customer rather than taking more upcoming appointments customers.
The massager peemai good massager but keep out from room like two to three times as she the only one person managing the spa reception and massage. Massage duration shorter than 1hr as she keep out from room many times to serve the reception customer inquiries.
Stay 4day 3nights but is not a pleasant stay. I guess the management has to really take responsibilities for the behavior of the staffs. This will really spoil your hotel reputations and image as tourist comment and give bad reviews. Please don’t think tourist come only once to Phuket Thailand so you can treat badly. For those neighborhoods country will often make vacation and holiday frequently. Will definitely not recommend to friends and family to this 4star hotel to get treat like a budget hotel...
