Golf-Sea-City Guest House Hua Hin by Taphouse — Hotel in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Stayed here for a total of 8 nights in room 15, in June. Initially booked for 3 nights, but decided the room was good enough for a longer stay.

The room is basic, but large with lots of room to move around. Inside the room is a settee, a chair and desk to work on, a fridge and a kettle. Water and coffee satchels are replenished everyday or at reception with no problems. There's an AC unit which worked really well to keep the room cool. The couch is comfortable and can sit 3 or 4, along with a coffee table.

The bed has a firm mattress and light duvet. The work table is next to the bed and is also where the 2 electrical sockets are. A small corridor leads to the bathroom where a wardrobe and shelfs. The bathroom is all tiled with an electric shower unit, while the toilet is standard Thai design. Liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner are also provided. Unfortunately, the bathroom floor wasn't designed to direct the water towards the sinkhole.

The hotel has a garden area at the back with several tables, benches and sun loungers.

Location wise the hotel is in the heart of the entertainment area. Although it does it loud on the streets, the rooms are located at the back of the hotels and street and only a little sounds carries that far back. I had no trouble sleeping. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes, restaurants and bars. Even the nearest shopping mall is walkable.

We reserved a room by Agoda day before arrival and we were running late due to bus connections from Bkk airport bus terminal. All phone numbers from online went unanswered. No email address is listed we were unable to contact until we found a contact them via book.com where we were told they had no reservation under our name. ultimatrely they were able to call us and they found our reservation. Upon arrival were were told the room we reserved had someone else in it and were shown an 8 sq m room and offered ti at 750 baht near the same price of the room we booked with a garden view and balcony. The 8 m sq room was 445 online when I booked our standard queen room at 780. We were looking for Jing's when I booked taphouse as they were in the same location Jing's used to be in. We found Jing's immediately next door and stayed ther the night. taphouse is in renopvations it no longer has the front deck offering meals, no pool table, no garden. It’s a bit difficult to find if you look for it on your own without Waze. It’s located in an area where there are lots of bars, restaurants, massage parlours and all kinds of shops. It’s a very happening area. Convenient stores are nearby and so are Burger King and McDonalds that are open 24 hours. The beach is quite close, and the night market and train station are within walking distance. When I checked in there were mosquitoes in my room. I complained and one of the staff sprayed it with a spray. After that it was fine. Other staff were also helpful. For one person the budget room is okay. The bathroom is very spacious. Everything worked well. However, the mattress was a little hard. The guesthouse has a bar cum coffee shop at its front. It’s a perfect place to people watch while checking your social media.
