Royal Hua Hin Golf Course — Local services in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

While this course is not as spectacular in terms of the landscape compared to the other courses in Hua Hin, I really enjoy playing at this course.

First of all the fairways are mostly flat and wide which is very forgiving for beginners. This is a place where I can try out new positions or new swings and clubs without feel frustrated. During the dry season, when there has been no rain for weeks, the grass does die and get brown but I think for the price point this is ok. It would be environmentally unfriendly to pump ground water from elsewhere just to water the fairways.

Secondly the caddies here seem to be more experienced and are able to give you tips on how to improve your game. However I would recommend that the caddies watch out for safety when driving the golf carts. On more than one occasion they started driving the cart when my legs were still hanging out and they almost got caught under.

The course is not big which makes a game within 3 hours entirely possible if you looking for a quick game.

However, I do recommend booking in advance as the course is rather busy even on weekdays, and even more so if you would like to have a golf cart.

This course is evidently rather popular with the locals. The driving range and putting greens were full the days I was there.

There is a sign that says twilight tee-off times require a 2 - 3 day advanced booking.

Yes a Scotsman ( railroad engineer ) , knew this destination deserved a railway companion. And so the story goes. Breathtaking old forest trees, monkey enclaves, elevation & bending fairways, knoll to knoll par threes and length with 6,700 yards reminiscent of The Olympic Club / San Franciscos similar length...Great conditioning albeit drought conditions, a well organized operation from check in to apres round locker room showers & restaurant eats/ beverages.There is a glorious feeling playing here & affordable to many @ 1,050 walk w/ caddy or 1,450 baht ride w/ caddy. Shade provides protection from the unseasonable heat. Many watering holes for chilled beverages. Smooth & receptive greens, challenging up & downs will pique your interest all round long. A final note of appreciation to my Caddy " Yui ; # 85 ! Having played 50 rounds of Golf throughout Thailands many provinces this was easily and by far my best Caddy experience. After paying everything including the caddies fees /coupon. They don’t tell you that you need to tip the caddies extra 300 mandatory so funny caddy said minimum 400 and I asked the caddy I already paid the caddies coupon at the cashier she said tips not included and minimum 400 and when I went to the cashier she said i should tip her minimum 300? Since when tips should have minimum? Its scam. Even the store where I rent golf clubs for 1000 and everyone is gathering and cornering you that I should tip her 300 baht or more If it’s mandatory to pay the tips why not add to the fees? And I’m just asking what is happening and why I need to pay again the caddy. Reception should tell All the details so golfers should know what are the rules and what to expect its big snd written the caddies price and after the game caddie is demanding to give her 400 baht tips 🤣.
