Central location, fresh seafood We always love restaurants where you see the fresh seafood being presented and this is a family favourite from years past. They are on a pier on the centre of town. Parking can be challenging but they have a lot to the side of the restaurant as well as across the street.

This was our first meal after landing from London and driving out to Hua Hin. Nice start to the holiday!

Food is typical of the restaurant - quick and tasty. We ordered the famous dishes (deep fried fish with fish sauce, yellow curry crab) and enjoyed it. The flavors have changed a bit but it was still very good. Portions are sizable depending on what you order, but everything tasted fresh and well made.

Service is also typical of the restaurant - basic, quick and helpful. Bring napkins or hand tissues if you don't like to use the small tiny tissue squares they offer (your hands and face will get dirty). Meals are best with beer given the warmth and style of food - this is not really a wine place.

Seating - its outdoors on a pier, basic tables and chairs. Dress comfortably. Never had any bug / flies issues here as well now that I am thinking back. In the evenings, we have enjoyed some light breezes which made the dinner comfortable.

The service is very bad!! Not going back there again. Not recommending friends or even strangers to dine there. The service staff jai mai dee. . Pood mai dee about customers. The sea crab that cost THB 800 look very miserably small. The fish is very soggy and NOT FRESH AT ALL!! I feedback to the service staff. They claimed the fish is very fresh upon when questioned by me, and they said maybe it's because due to overcooked. Then I doubted their chefs' cooking skills. They should tell whether it's overcooked or not based on their experience. I requested for change of fish. Their reply was change of fish will be charged as accordingly. And then they just left this case and simply ignored. When making payment, they wanted me to pay for that fish. I always willing to pay for anything but BAD SERVICE AND ONE WHO KEEP DENYING HIS OR HER MISTAKES ~ That's I can't tolerate! Kept reasoning with the lady boss but she still insisted her seafood is fresh. So conclusion is: Her chefs' cooking skills are doubtful?

As such, as a food lover and critic, I strongly advise all seafood lovers not to patronize their restaurant anymore. U can try the rest of the other restaurants but avoid this CHAO LAY SEAFOOD!
