I stayed at Hotel Tide for 2 nights, and while the hotel has some redeeming qualities, the overall experience left much to be desired. Room: The room itself was okay but felt a bit outdated. It was cleaned neatly, though the bedsheet and blanket had a slightly musty smell and visible stains. The walls were very thin, which made it difficult to relax due to noise from the hallway and loud traffic outside. Room cleaning was also a major issue. Despite leaving at 9 AM and returning at 4 PM, the room was still uncleaned, and the staff only arrived close to 5 PM, which is far below the standards of most hotels. Breakfast: This was the most disappointing part of the stay. The breakfast had minimal variety, with no bacon and a poorly managed system for restocking food. Eggs were particularly frustrating. On the first morning, we ordered two soft-boiled eggs. One was acceptable, but the other was half raw. The replacement egg was worse—only about 30% cooked. To make matters worse, it took nearly 20 minutes to get the eggs, long after we had finished everything else. On the second morning, the experience was even worse. Despite reminding the staff twice, we never received any eggs at all. It was clear that most guests didn’t get theirs either. We arrived at 7:30 AM, just after breakfast service started at 7, yet by 8 AM, nearly 80% of the food was gone, and many dishes were completely empty. This lasted for about 20 minutes with no refills, not even for basics like glasses or plates. The only acceptable aspect of the breakfast was the coffee machine. Service: Overall service was decent, but the dining room operations were poorly handled and far below expectations. For a hotel of this level, I expected much better. The issues with breakfast, cleanliness delays, and noise levels suggest that improvements are needed across multiple areas. For now, this is at best a 3-star experience.

It’s a great hotel with a nice pool area, the rooms are cosy and modern. We got an access to the pool room, but do not recommend staying more than 2-3 nights. However, a few cons: 1. the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, to see civilization you need to pay 20€ a day for taxis (use GRAB, the hotel taxis are insanely expensive). 2. The hotel service is a bit bad, which is surprising because it’s usually amazing in thailand: the cleaning service doesn’t leave you the proper towels or cleans the bathroom if you don’t tip them, and if you sleep past 8AM they make a lot of noise with trolleys + screams, because obviously, they don’t want to clean your room out of their schedule. They also don’t come to ask you if you want anything near the pool and take around 20min to bring you water and 40min the food. On a Monday. With 4 guests by the pool. 3. There’s also a lot of mold in the shower. 4. The food in the restaurant is a bit overpriced and bad, and such a shame cause there aren’t restaurants around the hotel. 5. Music by the pool is too loud and they leave it on until midnight, so good luck if you get a room besides de main pool. 6. Tour prices they offer you to visit the islands are very expensive, just get to the island by yourself and negotiate there, we got private amazing experiences for half of the price. 7. The outside sofas are very dirty and full of flys it’s impossible to have a proper meal near the pool. Overall, I’d recommend you find a private resort around Kaya Beach area (which is the tourist area), or just don’t stay in Phuket at all, stay in Koh Yai Noi and Koh Yai Yai which are touristless virgin islands.

Disappointing experience – far from 5 stars ★★☆☆☆ We had high expectations for Hotel Tide Phuket Beachfront, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The hotel does not live up to a 5-star standard in any way – more like 2 stars. The place appears run-down and poorly maintained. Several things in the hotel were broken, including a loose skirting board and damage to the ceiling. Our son even got a nail in his leg, which clearly shows a lack of maintenance. Pool area and beach The pool area was not inviting – weeds and dead leaves filled the flower beds, and the beach was littered with garbage. It created a sad and neglected atmosphere that did not match our expectations at all. Service and facilities • The cleaning was okay. • The food was acceptable, but the breakfast service was chaotic, and we waited up to 2 hours. • The staff seemed inattentive and not very service-minded. • Other guests were smoking weed by the pool area, which made our stay uncomfortable. Lack of shuttle service We booked a free airport pick-up three days in advance, but were told it was too late. However, this seemed odd as the hotel offered a shuttle to Krabi (a 3-hour trip) for ₿6,000 on the same day. Positives • Daily cold drinking water in the room. • Scented shampoo. • Possibility to book boat trips directly at the hotel. • Beautiful view of the water. Conclusion Overall, a very disappointing experience. The hotel does not live up to its stars and we felt cheated. We cannot recommend this hotel to others expecting a luxury stay.

Important Note: This is not a 5-star hotel as advertised on Booking.com—it’s 3 stars at best!||The main issue: We were forced to use the sunbeds and pool of the neighboring Foto Hotel, which is unacceptable. Below, I’ll explain why this happened and why it’s a major problem.||Honest Thoughts:||View: Exceptional—if you’re lucky enough to get a sunbed (more on this below).||Rooms: Decorative and spacious, which was a positive.||Breakfast: Average, nothing special.||Beach Access: Close to the beach, which is convenient.||Location: Not great; the nearest 7/11 is a 18-minute walk.||Cleanliness: Poor—especially the pool.||Lobby: Tiny and overcrowded.||Food: Great! Couldn’t fault it!||Staff: Friendly but not the most helpful.||Sunbeds: Virtually nonexistent—this is the biggest issue (details below).||The Sunbed Problem:||We initially chose The Tide Hotel over the Foto Hotel because we didn’t like Foto’s interior design or the pool—it didn’t seem as nice.||When we arrived at The Tide around midday (we were only staying one night), we found there were just 15 sunbeds for the entire hotel. Considering the hotel accommodates hundreds of guests and has plenty of space for additional sunbeds (please see photo) There’s even a second sad looking pool area that’s completely unused—bare as a bone—with not a single sunbed around it!||Most of the sunbeds by the main pool were occupied by guests from the Foto Hotel! We could tell because they all carried Foto Hotel-branded beach bags. The staff didn’t provide any explanation about hotel facilities upon check-in (something you’d expect from a so-called 5-star hotel), so we were confused and frustrated.||When we finally asked if there were more sunbeds, we were told we could use the Foto Hotel’s pool instead. We checked it out and, unsurprisingly, it was empty—no view, no sunlight, and generally unappealing. (Please see photo) Meanwhile, The Tide’s main pool, with it’s lovely view, was overrun by Foto Hotel guests. It’s completely unfair to pay for The Tide and end up using Foto’s facilities.||Final Thoughts:||If the sunbed issue didn’t exist, this hotel might have been decent for the price. But the lack of facilities, poor cleanliness, and misleading 5-star rating make it hard to recommend. Ironically, you’d probably be better off booking the Foto Hotel since you’ll likely end up using their facilities anyway—at a potentially...

A Terrible Experience: Avoid at All Costs!

I stayed at this hotel from January 2nd to January 14th, and it will undoubtedly be the first and last time. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service, the welcome, and the cleanliness of the place. This establishment severely lacks professionalism and hospitality. • Cleanliness: In 12 days, the floor in my room was never cleaned, despite numerous requests. The bed sheets were changed only once, and that was after insisting multiple times, which is unacceptable for such a long stay. Several times, we didn’t have towels in the room, and we had to call the reception two or three times to have our requests fulfilled. • Poor organization: The hotel provides only one key per room. If one person wants to leave while the other is showering, it’s a problem since the key is needed to activate the water. Our request for a second key was denied without explanation. One night, we forgot our key in the room. Upon returning, we had to wait over 20 minutes at the reception, which was completely unattended. Worse, we had to go to the neighboring hotel to get help. When the receptionist finally arrived, he seemed annoyed, clearly woken up from a nap. • Shady shuttle service: A few days before our departure, we booked an airport shuttle for 1,000 baht. On the morning of our departure, the hotel informed us that the price had been increased to 1,200 baht, which is completely dishonest. Despite our explanations and proof of the initial booking, the receptionist refused to honor the agreed price and claimed the taxi was no longer available. We ultimately had to book another taxi ourselves at the last minute and almost missed our flight. • Abusive charges: My cousin, who was staying at the same hotel, also encountered issues. Her 4-year-old son accidentally wet the bed twice, and the hotel deducted 500 baht per incident from her deposit. This is totally unacceptable, especially since sheet cleaning should be included in the room price.

In summary, this hotel is an absolute disaster. Between the lack of cleanliness, the rude and disorganized staff, the poor services, and the questionable practices, I strongly advise against this establishment. An experience I wouldn’t...
