Green Bar Phuket — Restaurant in Ratsada

Nov 27th: Take a seat, this is going to take awhile. Every so often I run into an establishment that is so outstanding, I need to pay it special attention. The Green Bar Phuket, is one of these very special places.

1st the food. Between myself and my brother, we had vegetable spring rolls, Tom Yum Goong with succulent fresh shrimp, Chicken Larb, Phat kra-phrao with minced chicken, green curry chicken and steamed and egg fried rice. Every dish we ordered was one of the best Thai we have experienced. Fresh herbs, the freshest shrimp, and all breast meat chicken. We intend to return several more times whilst we are in Phuket.

2nd the service. Nei, who was our hostess took such good, care of us and showed great patience with us and allowed us to order each dish one at a time so we could experience it without being rushed. The entire support staff were kind, polite, humble and did their best to speak with us in English. This super friendly approach was extremely appreciated by us, and I thank them here, again for their remarkable humility, humour and service.

3rd, The Green Bar is a gem on an otherwise common busy Phuket road. It's like an oasis, a place where they serve fantastic drinks, a rest stop for weary foreign tourists. They know their foreign guests very well, and frankly provide a level of knowledgeable service, even our Westin Hotel staff just can't match.

4th, the place is super clean, tidy even the restrooms need a mention. This is in the middle of a very busy street. They definitely know that their guests appreciate the cleanliness.

If you made it this far, congratulations! I hope your experience will be similar or better than...

TLDR; Really good, especially if you are staying on Koh Sire and don’t feel like heading into town - better than the hotel food.

Everything is really good, while I have had better version elsewhere there is nothing I can complain about, especially for proximity to Koh Sire hotels and nice staff.

Banana Chips - 10/10🔥🔥🔥 These are a free little snack but as the best, the seasoning on them is unbelievably good!! Star of the show ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pad Thai with Chicken 9/10 Not the best Pad Thai (I’ve had a ton of it) but really respectable and good enough that I went back and ordered it again.

Spring Rolls 9/10 Had better but still fantastic.

Deep fried shrimp 9/10 The batter could be a little better but the dipping sauces are amazing.

Location and Staff 10/10 Location is great if staying in Sire, otherwise not so much.

780 for 2 mains, appetizer + 2 cocktails...

A cute small restaurant/bar down the road from where we're staying. They have only been open for just over a year, and the reviews have proven worth a visit. The food far exceeded the hotel food in quality and price! The service was superb. Everyone is very friendly and helpful (they do speak English in case you're wondering). The signature drinks are worth a try (I particularly loved the Mojito de Phraya). The outdoor seating was very nice with fans and incense for the bugs (or if you're like me and forgot bug spray, they have some on hand).

If you're staying within 15 minutes of this restaurant, I highly recommend breaking away from the overpriced and low quality hotel food. This local family run spot will give you a true welcoming feel and a better taste...
