We loved the location. It is very hard to find (taxi drivers will try to insist you want the Hotel Phoenicia and they have no idea where this villa is). It is located down a side road and thus provides a peaceful night's sleep whilst being just a few minutes' walk from the bay, shops and restaurants. ||The house is nicely decorated and furnished and the owner and staff are helpful and friendly.||||There are a number of minor things we noticed (see below), but it didn't stop us extending our visit for an extra night and enjoying our stay. ||||Suggestions for improvement:||- The bed was a little too hard for us and the mattress was too small for the bed frame.||- The aircon could only be switched on/off via the mains switch in the hall... not much good if you need a quick burst of cool air during the night!||- The loo cistern inlet needs repair as the constant re-filling noise can only be stopped by turning off the inlet hose at the tap.||- No soap, shower gel, shampoo, etc. provided.||- No hair dryer provided.||- No tea/coffee facilities.||- No mini bar/fridge.||- Limited and inconsistent breakfasts, although what was provided was very good. We'd have liked to have had more choice of cereals, toast, marmalade/jam and a hot option, even if just eggs, would have...
Read moreWe stayed at the Villa Phoenicia in September this year and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of coming to Hammamet. ||||The villa itself is beautifully decorated, very tranquil and super clean. There's a lovely roof terrace which is perfect to sit out on to watch the sunset!||||The owner was really welcoming and helpful - when we arrived he waited up uncomplainingly when we were delayed arriving in the evening. He really made us feel at home and gave us lots of suggestions for places to see. ||||Our room was really tastefully decorated, very spacious and had a wonderful tiled balcony. Like the rest of the villa it was very clean and was made up every day. ||||The breakfast was great - fresh coffee, juice, breads, pastries and fresh fruit - taken looking over the courtyard. ||||The location was very good - much better than a lot of the big hotels which were quite a way out from the centre. We were 5 minutes wander from the medina and a minute from the beach - couldn't have been much better really. ||||We both agreed that the villa really made the holiday - it was a really lovely place to come back to after a day of sightseeing or beach-going! I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone. Thanks for a...
Read moreWe stayed here for a week at the end of July and would of stayed here longer if we could. We arrived really late, after a delay and the hotel transfer being unable to find it (I'd recommend arranging transfers through the villa as most drivers only know the big hotels) and were welcomed with fresh fruit and water, even at 1.30am! Our room was huge and the roof terrace was just beautiful at dusk.||The owners couldn't do enough for us and we loved the breakfast - the fresh fruits, juice, croissants, the breads and jams, and the fresh coffee! I can't really see what else you would want. We used the wifi downstairs a few times to help us book trips and look up restaurants, it's quite slow in the rooms.)||The location is perfect and for exploring Hammammet and the nearby restaurants were amazing. Despite not having a pool, it's 2 minutes from the beach and after a 5 minute walk in either direction we found sunbeds, umbrellas and places for lunch.||We chose the villa rather than a hotel or resort because we wanted something right in the middle of it all, experience Tunisia and to not be tied to a generic all inclusive deal. It was perfect for us and I'd...
