Globe Runner Rooms & Dorms — Hotel in Kyiv

I stayed here for the last part of my holiday and there are a few things to note. The dorm beds are very nice for a hostel and the beds themselves are comfy and the curtains are great, but the top one is too high for short people like me. Honestly, I had a very hard time always getting up there and at night I avoided getting down in case I needed it, because I didn't feel safe doing it in the dark. The bathroom situation I find a bit ridiculous for such a big hostel. On our side of the hostel for many rooms so probably for more than 40 people overall there were only 2 unisex showers and toilets. Aside from the fact that I find that too little I also hated the concept of unisex because it was hard to have any privacy if needed for things. You had to get dressed in the wet shower which is not the smartest idea. Also I was there 2 mornings and both days the showers were disgusting. It seemed like no one had cleaned them in a while. There was no atmosphere in the hostel, the common space was pretty much empty almost always so it was hard to meet people. The hostel could benefit from organizing something for the guests, however this might have also been because of covid. There is also no AC, but I knew that beforehand and I was lucky as it wasn't too hot those nights. Last thing, the hostel is quite pricey compared to others which is fine, but in that amount you don't get a towel or a lock (as in some other hostels), you have to rent those separately (not a deposit - this annoyed me particularly for the lockers. I stayed here for 4 nights in March 2025 during a trip to Kyiv to see friends.||||A paid for a private double room. The hostel does have shared rooms, which were much cheaper, but I wanted my own space. As a result, a paid a significant premium for the room. This hostel in not cheap in comparison to competitors in Kyiv.||||However, the central location of Globe Runner makes it a great base to explore the city. It is located a 5-10 minute walk from the Golden Gate monument (with access to Zoloti Vorota and Teatralna metro stations). Many of the central attractions in Kyiv are within walking distance or easily accessible by bus or metro.||||Also, the staff are incredibly friendly and understanding. I accidentally booked 3 nights instead of 4 nights. I did not have to pay a fine; instead the staff called me to explain the situation and they were happy for me to pay the bill for the extra night at reception without moving my belongings to another room. They made my stay seamless and I felt very welcome.||||It was interesting to hear some of the staff talk about their personal experience of the full scale invasion. I was grateful to hear their perspectives. ||||Globe Runner has lots of space for co-working, and seemed to attract many guests working remotely during my stay. There is also a cafe next door with direct access from the hostel that serves great coffee and breakfast (I forgot the name of this place). I cant understand how they collected so many good reviews, probably cause of the inviting some people for free. And I dont like to be negative (you can check other reviews by me) but I really disliked it, I have to.🙏||1. Its written in the center, but I walked more than 30 mins from Meidan to here|2. The road is other trouble, you have to climb up, then down, then up again and never ended|3. There is no elevator in the building, can you imagine 3 or 4 floors walking several times a day?!|5. The price was written 275+taxes and all 295, I dont know why they made me pay 355 (can show booking screen and receipt too)|6. Nothing is included, you have to pay extra for the towels and everything, breathing is free|7. The sheets were kinda dirty, you can check the pics, old as well|8. The only nice thing - was a good English and lovely manners of the reception lady|9. Lockers are not locking, so I felt a bit unsafe|10.
