We are currently on a 14 night stay at Vida Creek Harbour on the 4th floor. I am travelling with my two sons and was a little nervous being a woman but I haven’t felt safer anywhere else in the world.

Prior to arriving in Dubai, I contacted Nour to ensure that our room was ready for our arrival which was at 3.30am. Nour upgraded our room and made our stay as fantastic as possible. He gave us a Marina view, so we wake up to the Dubai skyline every morning and watch the sunset most evenings.

If you are travelling to Dubai, do not hesitate in staying at Vida. We have been provided with everything we could need for a comfortable stay. We get water on a daily basis, bathrobes, slippers, tea/coffee making facilities, Grown Alchemist toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, hand lotion and hand wash), so you don’t really need to bring any toiletries. We have a smart tv with all the usual Netflix and YouTube etc. The air conditioning works wonderfully so you will never be uncomfortable during your stay. There’s an onsite gym, pool and restaurants. In addition, outside the hotel, there are so many places to eat for all budgets. You have the usual kid’s favourites Pizza Hut and KFC, there are some nice cafes as well. We loved Gazebo who specialise in Mughlai cuisine but there is so much more choice. There are two supermarkets within easy reach so you can stock up on snacks if required. There is also a pharmacy and a barber within a few metres of the hotel.

Literally all the staff that we have had contact with have been amazing. They all go out of their way to help you. My son left his phone in a taxi earlier this week. We had a bit of a panic because we never thought we’d get it back. Baraket at reception logged our case with the transport department, chased up the taxi driver and had the phone returned within an hour. Where else would you get such help!

At reception, Jerry and Ceon have always looked after us. They’re on the phone straight away to sort things out for all guests. In the restaurant, Priyantha always ensures we have everything we need, the waitresses Tin and Maylen keep an eye on everyone in case anyone needs a top up of anything. A big thank you to Moeen at the omelette station who always makes me a perfect omelette and personally brings it to my table. Nothing is too much for him. Thank you Moeen.

There is a ferry that takes you from the harbour to Al Jadaf and Festival City for just 2 AED (around 40p gbp) per person. The hotel kindly provide a regular and free shuttle service to La Mer Beach and Dubai Mall. If you need to venture out a bit further, the staff at the main entrance are always happy to flag down a national taxi for you.

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service I received at Vida, both during the reservation process and at the check-in stage. Unfortunately, this has been one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever encountered. From the very beginning, the reservation process was disorganized and frustrating. When I first called, I was asked to send an email, which I did. Despite repeated follow-ups, the only response I kept receiving was that my request would be “forwarded again to the concerned department.” Replies were consistently delayed, with no accountability or proper follow-up. Later, I was informed that there was no availability, despite my continuous efforts. Since my voucher was about to expire, I had to call and follow up multiple times, almost pleading for assistance. Only after persistent complaints was my booking finally handled. Upon arrival, the supervisor on duty provided no explanation of amenities or even basic information such as breakfast timings. My friend had forgotten her ID, and when we requested to use the UAE Pass for verification, the request was dismissed without consideration. The supervisor’s approach was rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful, making the situation far more stressful than necessary. Even after my friend returned with her ID, check-in was still refused unless she called me directly, despite it being very late at night. To make matters worse, no note was added to the profile to clarify the situation, causing additional inconvenience. Worse view ever...
