We are a group of musicians who stayed in February. Just writing to say a big thank you for a wonderful weekend at your hotel. I had a meeting with all the 25 attendees to discuss how things went and there was unanimous acclaim for your fabulous reception, bar and restaurant staff, the quality of the accommodation and the quality of the food. Thank you as well from those who had additional dietary requirements. We all felt extremely well looked after and cared for! Many thanks to you in the office and reception, you made my life very easy and pleasant and everyone was full of praise for your efficiency and friendliness. Very best wishes for the season!

What a wonderful hotel this is! Such friendly, helpful staff. Everyone seems so happy to be there, a sign of good management/owners. The breakfast is excellent and so are the evening meals and very reasonable too. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean thanks to the very friendly housekeeping team. We cannot fault the hotel. They have made our honeymoon stay, the best it could be and even gave a us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. Thank you so much to the Pyne family and all their team.

Continuing my beer trail in Devon & Somerset. I found the Otter Bitter here to be a good pint. Tbh, I only came here to avoid the shopping trip with my wife and daughters but I'm glad I came. Added bonus was the young woman serving, she was very patient with my technological break down (pay by phone) as I had stupidly forgotten my wallet. A recommended beer stop for this town. (would have 5 stars had there been any other beers available)

I recently dined at a charming restaurant situated on the seafront in Sidmouth. The ambience was delightful, with a picturesque view of the sea that added to the overall experience. The menu boasted a variety of dishes, and while the food was of a high standard, I found the portions to be disappointingly small. For those with hearty appetites, this restaurant might leave you searching for a more substantial meal elsewhere.

I opted for the chicken dish, which, while delicious, was served with only two pieces of broccoli and two incredibly thin and small carrots. The lack of substantial sides left the meal feeling incomplete, and I couldn't help but crave a more satisfying dining experience. Given the portion size, I left the restaurant still hungry and ended up seeking out a nearby chippy to fill the gap.

While the food was reasonably priced, the value for money was lacking due to the insufficient portion sizes. A meal like this one truly needed a side of vegetables or something more substantial to make it a fulfilling dining experience. Without addressing this issue, it's likely that customers, especially those who appreciate hearty portions, may not choose to return.

In summary, the restaurant's picturesque location and high-quality food are marred by the small portions and lack of substantial sides. For those looking for a more satisfying meal, especially in terms of portion size and value for money, this place might not be the...

I would so loved to have given this hotel 4 stars. It is suitably placed right on the sea front at Sidmouth, parking non existent, but other reviewers have already covered this, the bed very comfortable, a powerful shower and a hearty well cooked breakfast, what's not to like? However, having been offered an evening meal in their restaraunt, and after reading on their website that they had "a good reputation amongst locals and visitors for good food which is locally sourced, much of which is from the family farm." We chose to dine in on our second night. Unfortunately I'm afraid this is where our experience of the hotel was dashed. The food that was served to us last night was extremely disappointing, as many elements of our meal looked and I'm afraid tasted as if they had been either tinned or pre-prepared, certainly not fresh or locally sourced as suggested. I would recommend that someone from the Pyne's family actually eat at the restaraunt and experience this first hand to see what me mean. I understand that it was our choice to eat here, but given their glowing review we just actually believed...

Lovely hotel, staff brilliant, hotel right on seafront That's the good stuff now the butts Food to spicy, breakfast was the best meal of the day and filling.(my friend and I ended up with upset tummies one eveing)would of been nice to have good old fish and chips on the Friday,as most of my trips have done that. MY single room was like a box room.shower small, doors didn't close tight,hence...(no good for a disabled person).luckily my holiday companion was only couple doors down so i used hers.It was impossible to watch the television comfortably,as to where everything was aligned. I had no side table by side of bed.but surely the hotel could of supplied a pull out little table under the desk to where the television etc was...Good point was the bus stop is just round the corner, for days out,as tad to quiet as others have said no entertainment in eveing.Ill be going again to Devon but just not at the...
