Arches Beach Cafe & Takeout — Restaurant in East Devon

Well the view is outstanding and a lovely feel inside the place. However I have been going in here for over a year now but in the last 8 or so months the sandwiches seem to have gotten more expensive with less and less filling. My BLT last week had only 1 strip of bacon in it! For nearly £7 that’s beyond ridiculous - and there is a real lacking of vegan or vegetarian options for my husband - he often ends up with a cheese and tomato sandwich for nearly £5!! The coffee is pretty expensive but its good coffee as it’s from a local maker. However the real problem is the staff. They are polite when serving you but the conversations going on while we were eating, we’re rude to say the least!! The worst seems to be the older blonde lady with short hair, we have overheard her being so rude when taking to other staff - I’ve heard her using threatening language amongst other things - I nearly said something last time but my husband talked me down. So now I’m leaving this review. Not sure I’ll be going back unless the staff and sandwiches...

We stopped here for a drink and a snack with our little grandson. We and our dog were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. The only reason I don’t haven’t given it five star is there are inconsistent closing times, For example, when we came around 3:20 pm, the shop was already closed although it was advertises closing at 4pm.
