No, I did not remember to take a picture of my scoop each of black cherry ice-cream and mango yogurt. I was to busy being immersed in the tasty experiences. While ice-cream, by no means, is the only thing they serve, I was told by a very friendly group of hikers along the Salcomb Coastal Path that, of all the ice-cream served in town (and believe me, ice-cream is EVERYWHERE!), that this was the spot with the best. While I don’t have a picture of my serving, I’m just going to set a visual right here of just the queue for ice cream, and I’ll just let you judge for yourself. Oh, and it’s like this all day! When pictures are worth a thousand words . . .

We stopped by here on a beautifully sunny day specifically to grab a Cornish pasty and a cup of coffee. We found a nice table outside and I then went into the shop to place my order with one of the bubbly young ladies inside. She wrapped up the 4 pasties I ordered which I took outside for the family to eat and one of the friendly servers came out a few minutes later with our coffees. This whole area was quite busy and the establishment was doing a roaring trade. All good.

Still remains THE go-to ice cream shop in Sidmouth. And rightly so. The ice cream is delicious.

Not so delicious is the cost these days, however. At £4.95 for a small, 'double-scoop' cup (or cone) doesn't really feel like value for money. And other than a 1.2 litre tub, that's the largest you can buy (they used to sell a three-scoop tub). I accept prices have to go up, but this feels steep, especially when you consider the massive price disparity between a double-scoop cup and a 1.2 litre tub.

So yes, remains a place to visit, and the quality remains high. But not all that...

Food reviews distorted by ice cream reviews. Shocking inedible breakfast, burned egg, 1 cheap sausage which was like rubber obviously because it was warmed up in the microwave and IMO was left over from the day before. Bacan - ha ha, I kid you not a half of one piece( just the rounded bit ), beans with a film over the top. I never complain but this was a different level and probably a health risk. To compound this the afternoon before I bought a coffee to go and that was almost cold and went straight in the bin - but the ice...
