Please please please do not book this place certainly couldn't and wouldn't call it a hotel. When we arrived the receptionist/manager was in the bar so I went in to find a bucket in the middle of the floor catching water from a leak in the ceiling. She gave me our room key and pointed in the direction of the room. Opened the door to an absolute ice box room was freezing. The room was dated had a nasty smell and just so cold, radiator in the bathroom didn't work and a wet towel in the sink. I went down stairs to speak with the receptionist/manager and her attitude was dismissive as it was my fault I hadn't checked if the radiators were turned up to the maximum. After a while when the room got colder I went to speak to the person again. She agreed to change our room and took us to the property next door. Gave me the key to number 14 with the 4 missing and left. While we were having a look around the receptionist/manager phoned my husband and started shouting at him saying why you cause hassle your room was ok. He tried to explain about the cold but she wasn't listening and continued to shout aggressively saying we see tomorrow. |At this stage I felt uncomfortable intimidated and decided to leave the building. |I returned the key and explained we could not be staying, I also said I would be contacting all relevant agencies to which she replied, "That's fine I don't care. |The worst place the worst staff the dirtiest run down hole...

We stayed one night here and the only room left was a double, no big deal as we are older. The hotel was clean and well presented. The room was a little dark and cold as the heating hadn't been put on for us but once on it was more comfortable, I have reynauds amongst other health issues so need warmth. There was tea/cofee/hot chocolate, flar screen TV, iron and board, hair dryer...the beds and bed linen with extra blankets if needed, all spotless and very comfy.

The bathroom was a decent size but missing a shelf for putting your clothes etc on, it did have a long narrow glass shelf with the hotels small hand soaps and body washes on it...I took my toiletries in and my clothes but ended up back in the bedroom as there was nowhere to put them.

Breakfast was included with porridge too! All more than satisfying on a self service buffet style service. I had no complaints.

Staff worked their socks off and did a grand job...! Definitely will...

Booked this hotel in November and requested a travel cot in our "family room". Had confirmation from James that this would be in the room. Called the hotel on the day we were travelling to confirm our check in time and that the travel cot would be there so we could get our 1 year old straight to bed. Arrived at the hotel, no travel cot! I called the number at reception as this hotel seems to have no staff except at breakfast, to be answered by someone saying "unbelievable" before putting the phone down. He arrived with a travel cot around 15 minutes claiming there was no record of us asking for the cot. ||There were staff about for breakfast, which was self serve. Not amazing, but not awful (although limited choice if you are vegetarian). The hotel seemed busy the whole time we were there, but the bar was never open despite signs to say it should be open.||Room was okay, certainly not what we paid for it though. Very dated and...

Hotel needs alot more care and attention. Room number 5 here has a mouldy bathroom which you can smell when you walk in the room, also the floor is slippy with socks on and you need to be careful. The above bath shower in the room was terrible, it was either red hot or completely cold (gave up). Thick dust above the headboard in the room clearly not been touched for a long time. The blinds in the room were broken, disgusting, and need changing asap. Only good points here are the staff are friendly, beds were comfortable, and it's in a good location not to far from the town centre. Those aside I would definitely not stay here again.

Booked for a wedding in Dumfries. The hotel was clean and tidy. The hotel rooms are outdated however we knew this when we booked. It had kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, shampoo and shower gel which was lovely to see. The radiator worked perfectly but the window didn’t open at all. There was a burn on the floor and on the right side of the bed it was all wet on the carpet. Finally, the bed was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. Didn’t stay for breakfast as we wanted to get home.

Great hotel, the rooms are basic but clean, and the shower is spot on. The buffet breakfast is fantastic with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, and all hot English breakfast items. Which is served in a lovely dining area, and we were looked after by the fantastic Alba who looked after all our needs and was very friendly, efficient ,polite, and professional. We were a party of 8 on a golfing trip and we had no complaints. Unfortunately the bar wasn't open as it was being renovated.
