We chose to stay here while visiting to see P!NK in Glasgow. On arrival we thought we were lost as it looked like a council estate and surrounding buildings were boarded up.. but once we realised we were in the right place we went in the hotel and it was great. The room was clean and prepared very nicely for us. Couldn't fault it at all, the staff were professional. The staff wanted to help us in every way they quickly got us paired up with another couple to share a taxi to the concert so it was cheaper for us. They told us to listen to the taxi driver and we would get a taxi back.
We enjoyed the concert and when it finished we walked 1 mile back to get a taxi only to be told all taxis have been shut off and we would have to walk 5 miles to asda to get one. After the hike at almost midnight in an unknown location using the last of our phone batteries (we were recording videos at the concert to share with freinds) we arrived at asda and it was gridlocked in every direction, the taxi firm said there was no taxi booked for us anyway. So we decided to start the 1 hour and 30 minute walk back towards the hotel with 7% battery. After 20 minutes we rang the hotel to see if they could help us only to be told it's not their problem....
For this treatment alone we decided to rate 1 star. We ended up walking for miles until we finally flagged someone down to take us back to the hotel for £20. When we finally got back our fob had been disabled so the staff had to turn it back on, we were told this was a normal occurance.
It ruined our experience and we decided to skip breakfast and just leave first thing so we didn't have to...
Read moreBeing coming here for years, sad to say it needs a revamp, stayed 4 nights to see friends and do a bit of Christmas shopping in Glasgow. Room was had stained walls, basic pillows and curtain is hanging off. Jumped on chair to fix it but kept falling off as attachment is broken. As your driving up to Hotel books unkempt and dirty you can see we're people have throw rubbish out of there windows. We weren't in the hotel much so it was basically somewhere to sleep, bathroom needs painting as again stained. Overall hygiene, room was clean and functional. Stayed at Newton Mearns last time and was miles apart in how it looked as that was fresh and extremely clean. Was informed on the website that the restaurant was being refurbished, however offered menus etc on arrival at hotel, then was informed by locals that it's not open to the public but hotel guests can eat there. It was completely empty when we looked to possibly having some dinner so decided not to dine there. Staff as always are lovely but never at reception. Unless they give it a makeover don't think I'd stay here through choice again but...
Read moreSo I stop at a lot of Premier Inns with work. East Kilbride Central unfortunately fell short of the usual good standard that I have come to expect.
The staff were great. That’s not the issue.
My room, while clean and comfortable, had a broken door latch and zero usb ports.
The biggest issue for me was the “restaurant” across the car park. It’s very, very tired. I will add a picture of the chair next to the one I sat on. They all pretty much looked like that. The table tops were sticky, really sticky. The service was good from the staff but the food was a bit under par. My nachos were a bit too soft and the Tex Mex burger was sloppy with sauce and the beef was dry and over cooked. I know it’s premier inn and not the Hilton but most Premier inn restaurants manage to please me. The breakfast was mostly overcooked, the bacon had black grill marks all over it.
Lastly the choice of beers was Madri or Guinness. That’s all. The Guinness was so bad it didn’t taste like Guinness, I couldn’t drink it.
Premier Inn need to invest in this site so that the facilities equal the service given...
