My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ramada East Kilbride Hotel for a 3 nights stay from the 1st to the 4th of September 2024. We enjoyed our stay, but of course, there were a few issues we didn't like. Firstly, we booked for a DOUBLE BED, and what we got was two single beds pushed together, and it was absolutely uncomfortable, and the beds kept sinking in. The pillows were terrible. As soon as your head hits, the pillow disappears, as if you are just laying straight on the mattress. The room aircon was also not that cool and kept our bodies going through a heatwave during the night, which made us even more uncomfortable as we couldn't get one night with straight/dead sleep. Apart from that, the room was very spacious and smelt very nice. The reception was okay, not much to say at all there. When you arrive there is a machine to put in your registration number and the nights you are staying to get free parking, which was wonderful. The breakfast was £10.99pp and to be honest, it was a very poor breakfast. There could be more effort put into the breakfast and the staff could maybe smile more. The lady who was on shift the morning of the 2nd of September 2024 was absolutely miserable and made me feel like I couldn't approach her for any assistance if needed. I would've liked it if they offered fried egg and not just sloppy/wet scrabbled eggs. The tomatoes tasted terrible and weren't cooked properly at all. My boyfriend git a cappuccino, and it was absolutely disgusting. He didn't even drink it after that sip to taste it. It was a letdown and waste of money for what was provided as we have paid the same before in other hotels and have always been outstanding from start to finish. Poor, but hopefully, this can get better for the breakfast area of the hotel. The escalators were always smelly and coffee all over the floor, very sticky. The view of the hotel from the outside was very poor and dirty looking, didn't feel welcoming, but the inside was surprisingly more modern and clean looking. The gym was very small but perfect for a small workout during your stay. We enjoyed the gym a lot together and used every piece of equipment. I like that the reception was at the top of the hotel and not at the bottom like normal hotels where you go into reception at the bottom and then find your way up to your room. This Ramada hotel was the complete opposite way and was quite nice to experience. The cleaners for the rooms were ok, I'd say they did a really good job. We were very annoyed on the last day as we were woken up at 7h30am by loud drilling sounds. There was no warning or any information given to us that this was going to happen. We both woke up upset and irritated. I was very upset, with a headache after they had finished like an hour and something later and just wanted to leave the place. Not a nice stay regarding the rooms situation and breakfast, but apart from that, all was ok. We enjoyed the shopping mall being tight there and managed to do a lot of sightseeing during our stay. I would recommend the hotel to people, but hopefully, they have a better experience...
Read moreIt would be helpful if somewhere on the website or on the major SatNav information the entrance for the parking ramp was listed. In that description it should also be noted that the parking is free while staying at the hotel BUT vehicles must be shorter than 5’9”. Our family drove around the facility only after following directions provided by the satnav that said to go into the maintenance entrance.Registration was easy and the staff was helpful. We went down the elevator to the 10th floor and then walked all the way to the end of a very long hallway to our room. It seemed crazy that we were so far from the elevator and during our stay we didn’t notice people coming or going from the rooms in between our and the elevator. The cleanliness could be worked on. There was a film of thick dust on anything higher than 6’0”. Being a taller person I could see it in the bathroom and on the wardrobe unit so I cleaned the surfaces so I could use them during our stay. We went to breakfast one morning and our attendant was amazing. Her name was Mia and she was kind. She welcomed us and was genuine. My young daughters appreciated the work she was doing and that she helped them with their food. Mia helped arrange a fried egg for my 12 year old and it was cooked wonderfully. A memorable young woman because she was so keen to help and do...
Read moreI am unsure where to begin!
I reserved a room for a family of four, and upon our arrival, we were provided with only two towels. The duvet on the children's bed was undersized, failing to adequately cover my 15 and 10-year-old children, even after I had contacted the establishment multiple times prior to our arrival to verbally confirm my reservation, which had already been paid for.
I contacted the reception, and despite having to locate an attendant myself, the individual I spoke with at the reception was entirely dismissive.
We stayed for five nights and requested room cleaning just once, but instead, they only replaced the towels, still leaving us with only two, and the room remained uncleaned. I reported this issue and was informed that they would notify the manager, yet no action was taken.
The breakfast was not of the highest quality, as experienced by my children on the single day they attempted it, despite the cost associated with breakfast.
Overall, I would not consider returning to this establishment, even if offered a complimentary stay.
The entirety of my experience was quite unfavorable, and my children expressed a desire to relocate after...
