Muffin Break — Restaurant in Scotland

Arrived at half 4 with my gran, we chose some toasties but were told that the grills had been turned off because they closed at 5 despite their hours saying they were open to 6. Fair enough I thought, I work in food service too. But what upset me was when we ordered our coffees the woman making them turns to the woman serving us and snidely says in a voice loud enough for both me and my gran to hear "We're never getting out of here on time now." There were at least 10 tables full of people in, yet we were made to feel very unwelcome. The whole time we sat with our coffees and sweets the staff very loudly talked about closing the store, they put the shutters part way down and loudly collected trays. If the staff had outright told us at the till "We are closing soon, please order to takeaway" we would have been more than happy to do so, but the fact that we were served to sit in and then were made to feel embarrassed and hurried just isn't good customer service, especially when the store was as busy as it was. Muffin Break was always lovely when upstairs but since the relocation, they've upped their game yet again!

A larger unit, more space, plenty of seating, bright lighting compared to the past business, a vast majority of cakes and muffins, as well as a wide range of hot food, including full breakfasts on the menu!

Plenty of staff, all friendly and approachable. Excellent customer service as always.

Can't credit this place enough, thoroughly recommended. A caramel latte muffin and large takeaway mocha displayed in the photo.

A hidden gem to East Kilbride town centre, part of the future renovation. Will be back in the very near future....

Ordered eggs benedict and basically got a plate of slightly sour hollandaise sauce. One slice of cold meat between the 2 bagels, its supposed to be bacon not to mention half of it had no meat given it had once slice, left after it started to make me feel slightly sick. Bagels weren't toasted so could hardly cut through them, fried eggs instead of poached. Got the Pistachio and matcha iced latte which tasted okay but the size was tiny compared to what it looks like advertised. For about 14 quid you'd expect better.
