Had a lovely stay in this wonderful guest house. Beautiful room with sofa and coffee table at one end and enormous bed at the other. Lovely couple of window seats too which made for lovely evenings looking out over the river Wye.
Breakfast was really tasty; you could eat between 8-9am (need to pre-book the table, but not food the night before) and could choose from bagels, full English or various eggs. There were a few cereals and fresh berries too. This was £10/head additional but worth it. I believe there is also an option for a bagel in your room after 9am.
Location was fab; 3 min walk to pubs/restaurants and about 5 minutes to the river. We canoed the Wye and used this as a half way stop on the trip Hoarwithy-Symond's Yat which worked really well. Host was very friendly too.
The place was Covid secure with the host wearing her mask throughout and sanitiser available on arrival etc etc. Room was spotlessly clean too. This is despite there being no official restrictions when we visited, but with cases still high, nice to see the host continuing to take sensible precautions.

Read moreI have recently stayed at the Radcliffe Guest House and felt compelled to leave a review. It’s rare in these times to receive an excellent all round service from hotels. But this is certainly the case with the Radcliffe.
The owners are friendly, adaptable and cannot do enough for their guests. The room was well ventilated, was beautifully furnished and Was found to be extremely clean. The shower isn’t the most powerful- but blame Triton the shower manufacturer not the hosts.
Breakfast was tasty and delivered hot. Coffee fresh from the cafetière.
I was not able to take a taxi to Hereford this morning due to poor availability of taxis and sensing my stress levels - the owner offered to take me (for a fee of course). What company in this day and age offers such customer service?
Maybe they aren’t the biggest of the hotels in Ross on Wye, but after staying at other larger ones previously I can say in my opinion- they are the best. A keeper for me and I’ll be staying again in October 2018. (if I can get a room now I’ve been singing...
