My partner and I were relocated to Signature Townhouse Hyde Park by Expedia before arriving in London, because our original hotel had to close for last minute building reparations.

At first, we were feeling hopeful because of how their website looked and from (most of) the reviews we read. The rooms etc. looked very good. Even when checking in, the hotel lobby was clean, bright and looked lovely, as were the front desk staff.

However, this all changed when we were taken to our room. It was a basement room (006) and it truly was horrible. Here is a brief list of things we noticed:

No toilet brush Cobwebs in all corners of the room Marks and hairs on the bedding The duvet cover was too large for the actual duvet Leaking/ low pressure shower Air con not cooling Loud noise from industrial unit outside the room (was told it shuts off in the evening - it doesn't) Towels smelled like old cooking oil/ grease Carpet very dirty and sun damaged Hangars do not fit in the wardrobe Mirror is at chest height

We immediately went to reception and the lady was very apologetic and said we might be able to relocate to another room the following day. We took her up on her offer but the newer room on the first floor was only marginally better.

Upon checking out, we mentioned how disappointed we were with the quality of the rooms given what we were expecting from the reviews and the website. We were told this is common and were apologised to again. The lady on the front desk said she would contact the hotel manager (A. George) to ask him to contact us directly. Which he did and, to his credit (before all of his communication stopped abruptly), he offered us a free nights stay to try and make up for our experience. As we do not live in the UK, I said this wouldn't be possible and instead asked if it would be possible to get the monetary value of the night instead. He then referred me to Expedia and stopped communication.

As I said, the reviews from various websites and how their own website looked really had us fooled. Perhaps we were just unlucky, but when comparing the price to what's actually offered, I would never stay here again.

EDIT: Since leaving this review, Rita (Cluster House Manager) has contacted me to offer a partial refund. This is currently being processed by my travel provider. I am very appreciative of this. Thank...

Only stayed the one night and only used to freshen up and sleep but certainly expected more for a 4* hotel. I can also only base it on what was called a "deluxe double" with breakfast and was not a cheap stay.|ROOM|PRO'S: Great area for us as at an event in hyde park, close to park and tube. Very quiet area and quiet in the room over night. Had tea/coffee facility, toiletry, hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board and air con plus fan.|Unfortunately thats where it ends.|CON'S: The room can only be described as grubby. Furniture battered, carpet threadbare in places and liquid splatter marks and stains up the walls. Bathroom smelt of mould/damp/old water, can't quite describe it ! Cardboard coffee cups (1 each) and no spoons. The mattress was thin and you could feel the springs a bit but if your not a mobile sleeper you will be fine. Curtains didn't fit the full width of the window and didn't want to pull them down trying too much! So light came in at the crack of dawn. |Really hoping breakfast was going to redeem the hotel at this point.|BREAKFAST:|Edible. Thats it! We have all been to a hotel and seen at certain times everyone seems to come down at the same time! DONT! They have 6 tables, thats it. They have the basics, toast, cereal (2 types) mini pastries (2 types) juice and yoghurts. The cooked was ok but definitely lower quality food, beans watery and no taste and hash browns were bit grey in the potatoe. Very small serving dishes so make sure you go under it to get the hot ones. Sausages cheap Cumberland. |Now as I said we only spent 1 night but having been in others in the area that are 4*, this place really isn't that standard. So this review is for anyone who is paying good money for a good length of stay to be mindful of what the price will give you. I am by no means fussy and have stayed in many hotels lower star rating but with the mindset it is lower and have had my expectations pleasantly surprised. I'm afraid I begrudge my hard earned money with this one. Only met 2 staff on this stay and they were lovely so...

We originally booked at Lancaster Gate hotel but when we arrived to check in they told us we had been “upgraded” to the hotel down the street which was this hotel. When we got to this one, we told the lady we had been sent from Lancaster Gate Hotel and she had no idea what we were talking about and it took a long time to finally check in. Our room was just a normal small room (nothing “upgraded” about it) and we didn’t even have a mini fridge. They also only gave us one key card for two people so we had to go back to the desk and ask for a second key card.

The worst part about the stay was when I went to shower in the evening, the temperature knob was stuck so the only temperature option was scalding hot. We got someone to come take a look and he couldn’t fix it and said he would manually change the temperature from the boiler room. I waited a bit to give him time to change it but still the temperature was scalding hot so I had to resort to washing myself in the tiny bathroom sink which was very frustrating. Then when I was finally “showered”, I went to use the hairdryer which didn’t work even after trying it in multiple outlets around the room. We were in this hotel for 2 nights but I couldn’t wait to leave so I could go somewhere where I could have an actual shower and didn’t feel cramped in the tiny space.

We had breakfast included but it was nothing special. The breakfast room is quite small and on the second morning when we went for breakfast, there’s weren’t many people in the room but almost all the tables were dirty from people who had finished and left but hadn’t been cleaned up yet.

Location-wise, it’s a good area to stay in but not labelled well if you’re coming from the west side of the street. When we first went to find the hotel, we actually walked past it and had to turn around and walk back to where it was.

Overall, I would not go back here and would not recommend this place. I was very disappointed we couldn’t stay at our originally...

Firstly - this hotel is FILTHY. Do not stay here if you have any cleanliness standards. First room I was put in (photos) had black mould around windows and in the shower, hairs on the bathroom floor, all the walls were filthy with various stains, crumbs and dust on every surface. I thought okay, it’s one night I can try to ignore it, but I was also next to the very noisy lift so I asked if I could move to a quieter room as I needed to try and sleep early as I had an early flight the next day. The receptionist did very kindly oblige but moved us to a room where the Tv didn’t work. I went back to a new person on reception and they said they’d upgrade us to a bigger room instead (the lady previous told me no other rooms available), and when we went to pack up our stuff we found someone else’s DIRTY SOCK had been left on the floor. How do “cleaners” miss that?!!!! when we got in to our third room we found the air con did not work. It is too hot in London right now to stay in a high floor room with no air con. Our only option was to go back to the dirty sock room with no tv or the filthy room next to the lift so we opted to leave and I am grateful they let us do that which is why I’ve given service more than one star. They told us they had problems with air con in multiple rooms and asked us not to use the room while we tried to find a new place to stay because they would still try to sell them!!! In addition, we met two other guests in reception who were contacting the police as their bags had been broken into whilst in their rooms. So please be aware your things are not safe!!!!

Do NOT Book This Hotel Unless It's Your Only Option!!!! I hope to give 0 star!! My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. 1. Check-in Process: The front desk staff was shockingly rude and impatient, almost throwing the receipt at us. It was an unpleasant start to our stay. 2. Room Condition: The attached photo speaks for itself. - The bedsheet was dirty and yellowish. - The toilet had no space to hang towels, and the provided shampoo bottle was empty. - The coffee machine was filthy, with a leftover capsule inside that had mold—absolutely disgusting! - The cabinet had very limited space, making it impractical to hang coats if you’re traveling during winter. - The room had poor soundproofing, you could hear noises from the corridor and neighboring rooms. - The pillow smells so bad!!! 3. Wi-Fi Connection: The Wi-Fi was extremely slow, with only 2 bars out of 3. It was nearly unusable. 4. Room Service: This was the most ridiculous part—when we ordered food, we were asked to collect it ourselves downstairs instead of it being delivered to our room. What’s the point of calling it room service? Also, paying in cash, they didn’t provide any change, so you’re expected to have the exact amount. Completely inconvenient and unprofessional. Overall, this hotel is **not worth the money** and completely spoiled my mood. Avoid this place at all costs!

First of all, everyone of the front reception staff were very polite and accommodating. I greatly appreciated a two hour late check out after a six day stay and I didn’t realise at the time but the £10 fee was waived for this. This accommodation is more than 3.5⭐️ but not quite 4⭐️. I was quite comfortable in a good sized room with slightly dated furniture and worn carpet but a fairly modern, good sized bathroom with a good shower head. Very important! I didn’t use the TV but it was in difficult spot over a very cluttered little desk that no one could really work at. The rooms are in what seems a series of rabbit warrens. And quite a bit of climbing. There is a lift but it doesn’t help with avoiding some stairs. There is a breakfast room on the lower level and for 15 pound an adequate selection of hot and cold food. There is a coffee machine in the foyer and you can purchase a cup for £2.50. Fresh water is available in a dispenser near the reception area. The location is good and not far from the entrance to Hyde Park via Lancaster Gate, Lancaster Gate Metro and bus station. It’s about a 12 minute walk to the main shopping street in the area but there are a couple of pubs and smaller shops very nearby. I think if you don’t mind not being too close to the city this accommodation is good value for money.
