I recently dined at Ozuki Japanese restaurant in London, and I must say that my overall experience was quite disappointing. While there were a few positive aspects, there were several key points that left much to be desired.

Let's start with the food. The dishes we ordered, including sushi, prawn tempura, and Korean chicken, were unfortunately average at best. However, the Korean chicken had a peculiar taste that was quite unpleasant. It lacked the flavors and quality that one would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Considering the reputation of Ozuki, I had higher expectations for the culinary offerings.

On a positive note, the staff at Ozuki Japanese restaurant was friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and provided decent service, which added a positive touch to the overall dining experience. However, despite the amiable service, it did not fully compensate for the other shortcomings.

One of the major disappointments was the value for money. The quality of the food did not match the prices charged at Ozuki. Given the average taste and lackluster presentation, it felt like we were paying more than what the experience was worth. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to deliver on the promise of a satisfying gastronomic experience, especially when the bill arrives.

Moreover, when we requested to pay at the bar, there was confusion and a delay in their response. We were told to wait, but unfortunately, no further assistance was provided. To make matters worse, we noticed that the staff cleared dishes from other tables for new customers while ignoring our request. Frustrated by the lack of attention, we ultimately decided to take matters into our own hands and proceeded to the bar to settle the...

Tucked away about a 10-minute walk from Paddington Station, Ozuki Sushi is a small, intimate Japanese restaurant with just 22 seats spread across tables for two and four.

The space is made to feel larger with Japanese-style wallpaper, mirrors along the wall, and a window opening onto the street. A red awning marks the entrance, while the kitchen and bar sit at the far end of the room. Be aware: the toilets are located downstairs, outside the main door. I was at right next to the bar which was a bit of a squeeze in terms of space.

The menu is extensive, presented on laminated sheets alongside a drinks list.

I opted for the bento box, which was fairly generous. It included two crisp prawn tempura, rice topped with a rather heavy katsu sauce, eight maki sushi pieces, a dressed salad, a Japanese side salad, and two pieces of nigiri (tuna and salmon—the salmon being the better of the two).

Service was polite though there was a wait for food. Overall, my visit took around 50 minutes which might feel a touch long for a quick weekday lunch.

Verdict: A cosy little spot near Paddington offering decent sushi and bento options. Good for a relaxed meal, but maybe not the best choice if...

On the 10th of October for our 24th year anniversary my boyfriend and i decided to finally go to this restaurant - we are locals that have been living in the area for over 12 years. I booked and made a note that we would have liked the window seat considering it was a special occasion - my partner a couple of hours before the booking actually went personally to the restaurant to highlight that we wanted the window table and a gentleman (chef with bleached hair) agreed and said to not worry. We arrived there literally 7 or 10 minutes late and our seat gad been taken, the lady said "we can't keep your table for hours". The chef probably out of embarrassment was hiding behind the curtain to not have eye contact. Of course they just care to fill up the room considering they work with tourist in this area and the locals like us are treated in this way. Appalling behaviour. My partner that works in hospitality explained that everywhere the table is kept at least for 15/30 minutes, the lady who was calling him darling ll along just said that we were ruining the vibe of the night and that she didn't want to continue the conversation, well she ruined our anniversary!! AVOID, not...

A very small restaurant near Hyde Park. Easily fill up in matters of minutes once it gets busy and noted a lot of the ppl on the day were first-time visitors. Nonetheless, the staff were very friendly and explained clearly the menu. So this place makes Japanese, Korean and Mongolian food and I believe that the staff/owner were Mongolian. Forgot to take a pic of the Beef Dumpling which was rather just on the so so side. The Sushi were great for sharing and well presented and tasted 😋 great. I was fairly disappointed with my Beef teriyaki rice main dish ... which I kinda regretted my choice. The Bibimbab came in a bowl which again unexpected, we thought it would come with the hot stone pot but at least the taste was good 👍 Price wise it was actually on the expensive side but I guess the area (location is key) as I didn't expect the bill to be over £200 for 7 ppl for the amount of food we ordered. Overall, Great service and unique little restaurant but maybe I ordered the wrong choice of food that time. Stick with the Sushi!
