We booked a two bedroom superior apartment for 6 nights for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens). We booked 6 months prior to our travel dates. Upon arrival, we were told the room we booked would not be available for two days but they were still able to accommodate us and gave us an "upgrade" for the inconvenience. Imagine our surprise when our "upgrade" was for the disgusting basement level apartment that gets such awful reviews.||||Upon entering the apartment, our entire family notice a strong urine smell as if someone had recently urinated on the carpet. When we complained about the scent, management came into the room and sprayed a strong chemical to cover it up resulting in migraines for two of us.||||It was a rainy day in London and the rain seemed to be coming through the walls. There were water stains on multiple walls in several rooms and a musty smell indicating mold. ||||The carpets were covered in stains and there were blood stains on the pillows. When brought to managements attention, they acted like something was wrong with us for wanting clean pillows and they did not provide new ones. The beds were rock hard and one mattress had a broken spring. ||||The TV in the master bedroom was missing from the wall and the TV in the living room did not work. The WIFI was not working either which was a deal breaker because we needed to be able to connect with our business and work from the room.||||We voiced our concerns and requested to be moved to a suitable upstairs room but were told that wouldn't be possible as the hotel was full. Interestingly, there was still availability on Trip Advisor for our dates. It seemed that management was just unwilling to help us.||||We ended up leaving and canceling our stay. We requested a refund at the time of departure to which management said would be no problem. Two days later, Chilworth Court charged an additional $5000 to our credit card for no apparent reason. Two weeks later we had not received the promised refund and were told by management that they would not refund us because we "didn't give them sufficient time to rectify the situation during our stay". We unfortunately have had to report them to the British Business Board for fraud.||||It is such a shame to be treated in this way and to be given such poor accommodations in what is marketed as a luxury Aparthotel. Nobody should have to deal with this type of situation while on vacation. Shame on you...
Read moreI stayed in the first week of July 2023, I paid 740 euros per night for a one-bedroom apartment, equipped with a double bed and a sofa bed to accommodate 3 adults. Overall I found it a pleasant experience, but if I had to choose again, I would not pay 740 euros for the room, which is obviously too expensive. The quality of service and room equipment is not worth the high price.
Advantage First of all, the location is very good, close to the Paddington railway station, many bus and subway lines can reach almost all the sightseeing spots in London. There are also many restaurants nearby, which is why I choose this hotel. I do not want my parents to drag heavy suitcases too far to the hotel. It is equipped with a kitchen and a washing machine, which is very convenient for people who had a long trip but do not want to carry too many clothes, but there is no drying function, only five hangers are provided in the room. The extra clothes can only be dried with a towel rack or on chairs. The cleansing staff did not replenish the toiletries. The staff at the reception helped to fix this.
Shortcoming The cleaning staff is not professional enough. For the first day, only the bed was made. The towels were thrown on the cabinet and unfolded. I could not even tell if those were clean towels or not. The toiletries were not refilled and the garbage was not taken away. But the above-mentioned deficiencies were completed the other day, I guess by some other cleaning staff. Obviously, many tasks that should be completed were neglected on the first day. The soundproofing is poor. A family with kids lived on the upper stair of us and we could hear them running around. Luckily they told their kids to lower the noise after I seek help from the receptionist. However, if other guests staying in the hotel are not as considerate to others, those who have difficulty falling asleep may consider other hotels. The tiles in the bathroom are cracked and uneven, and the...
Read moreMy family had a wonderful and memorable winter holiday in London, staying at the Chilworth. We highly recommend this accommodation if you're looking for a place near a main transportation interchange like Paddington.
It was just a 5-minute walk to Paddington, and it was perfectly convenient—near enough to a busy interchange but far enough from any noise or large roadways. We felt safe within the neighbourhood, too. Just a few doors down from Chilworth, you can find a pub for a drink and your necessities at a bodega.
Each time returning to Chilworth's "apart-hotel" for 5 nights, it felt like we were coming home. The lobby was simple but spacious, and adequately warm from the cold outside. They even put in effort to decorate it for the season, a real classy Christmassy touch - my family loved it! The hotel manager Jose warmly welcomed us and made us feel right at home from the very start, and my son always looked forward to seeing him at the start and end of each day.
We chose a one-bedroom apartment and it was spacious enough for a family of two adults and two young children. The beds were so comfortable and you would have everything you'd need in a fully-amenitised apartment. If there were any issues, Jose and his team would be there to help resolve them. Even though they didn't need to change our towels daily, they did so every day. We felt we were getting a full hotel service in an apartment.
For its price, amenities, and superb location, it was way worth it as compared to the Airbnb we previously paid for, or other branded hotels around London.
Thank you so much, Jose and Chilworth for making us feel so much at home! Merry...
